  1. Follow the lower radiator hose to the engine. Its in that housing, 2 10mm bolts. Make sure you burp the system when you refill it so you get all the air out. Lots of post on doing that.
  2. Mouse Milk is a great rust buster, but any good rust buster oil will help. Give it some time to work. If its still stuck, have him check the lower attach bolts and pull the complete assy. With it off the car, that large hammer will do more work to drive the bolt out. If all else fails, hit the local yard and get a used part.
  3. The slave cylinder that pushes the fork. There is also the bleeder manifold which is on the side of the trans. I'm sure you could get them to bolt up.
  4. I think so, the fork may have to be changed. We went the other way with my sons, and welded the top of the cable fork to the Hyd fork and its working fine. The cylinder bolt up may requrie some work.
  5. You can always watch the yards and pickup some used KYB struts. That way you will not have to worry about the springs, just unbolt and bolt the new set in. KYB are great struts but the ride will be stiff compared to stock.
  6. The cover is part of the airbag. I've had it off and its one piece. If the crack does not bother you, you could leave it. The airbag does have a limited life and if its open to stuff, it would age faster. Just a thought.
  7. NAPA or any quality auto parts store should have a seal puller. It looks a little like a claw hammer, handle with a single curved claw very skinny. I've also had good luck drilling a small hole in the seal and then threading in a screw far enough to pull the seal out with. There is less than a 1/4" of space behind the seal so you have to be careful but it works.
  8. The whole cross brace may have shifted back. I'd try to pull it forward after you back the nuts off a turn or two. Two bolts on the upper frame. I'd also look at the frame itself, any damage, bends.... A good cable come-a-long and stout tree will help.
  9. Thanks for the info, that's what I was thinking, but I've been working on the 2.2 for a few years.
  10. OBDII code readers start at about $70.00 and go up from there. If you just want to find out what the code is, hit the auto parts store near you. Most read the codes for free so they can sell you the part to fix it.
  11. I have a guy who has a 92 Loyal wagon that says the engine has no compression as the timimg belt has slipped. I'm thinking I just need to re-index the belts and set the tension. This is a non-interference engine, correct? Thanks, Larry
  12. You may or may not have a hill holder. If your car has it, its right below the master cylinder and there is a cable that goes to the clutch fork. You can disconnect the cable at either end and make sure the valve is full open. Its spring loaded open but I have seen them stick.
  13. If you need parts, let me know. I parted a 94 Impreza and have most of the front brake parts. Colorado Springs.
  14. Have you pulled it and cleaned the valve and the ports? If not, I'd do that first. I have one from a 98 2.5, I believe they are the same if you need one.
  15. Auto Trans is very heavy and if the torque converter is not installed properly, it will trash the transmission. Other than that, it's easy to install the new seal.
  16. Never had a problems splitting them, but you may have some balance issues if you only change the front.
  17. They are much stiffer than stock. I put new KYB all the way around and its not the same Outback.
  18. Yes, it should have one on the Drivers side of the radiator. It bolts to the two holes at the top of the radiator and sets in the support at the bottom. If you need one, let me know, $15 shipped. Lmdew@hotmail.com This may or may not fix the overheating problem. When you get it on, you need to make sure you burp the coolant system and then make sure the coolant is getting pulled back into the engine when it cools. If it does not do this, you most likely have a bad Head Gasket.
  19. Make sure you are using the tick mark on the back tooth of the crank pulley and not the arrow on the front. I's slightly off and will line up as the tensioner takes out the play.
  20. On the back passenger side of the engine, there is a black plastic cover. You access the 4 flex plate to TC bolts through that access hole. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE TC SEATED ALL THE WAY INTO THE TRANS. IF NOT, THE TRANS WILL LAST ABOUT 30 MILES AND THEN ITS TRASH!
  21. If i does not fit or you want a Impreza pump shot me an email. I have a couple. Colorado Springs, Lmdew@hotmail.com
  22. http://www.car-pal.net/index.htm Bluetooth communication. I got a new Palm from Santa and I'm looking to replace my PC OBDII reader. Looks cool. Let me know if your using one! Thanks, Larry
