Who did the TB change? Any idler pulleys damaged? Something locked up I'd think.

I pulled and put in better carpet in the 2006 Forester but it's way thinner than other Subaru carpeting. Anyone ever used another year, model...? The 2006 Impreza OBS carpet I put in my Impreza was way better. Thanks Larry

Yes, not as easy as the older ones with 4 struts all the way around. I've never checked the length of the rear shocks from one to the other. I can't imagine you'd get much lift from them.

All the power windows I have worked with have been hard wired! Not enough draw to need a relay.

You can always put the thermostats in a pot of water and bring it up to temp and watch them open. If you have a bottom radiator hose hot, you have flow through the radiator. Proper coolant is a good thought and pretty cheap.

Update 12/24/2021: Subaru extended warranties on 2012-2018 models to cover this part at least until 10-31-22. • 2022 Update. Key ... This "fix" bypasses the park-range switch that often fails in 2015-2018 or 19 Outbacks. My wife's Outback has not had a key stuck since I put in the jumper wire and no dash lights have come on (the key was getting stuck regularly). The only risk may be that you can now remove the key with the car in drive, neutral, etc. If you can't live with that risk, then you better replace the switch per Subaru service bulletin # 16-112-18R (https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/201.... This same method may be able to be applied to other Subaru models. Many modern Subarus use a similar wiring harness and wiring color scheme within the shifter console. If you want to try it on your own car, do so at your own risk. Also, remember to make a video so we can all benefit from your effort. Cleaned a the connectors. I tried slaving in the old Trans switch, no change. I pulled the shifter apart and could see the switch. The shift lever was moving too far FWD and the SW opened again. Pull back on the shifter and it works as it should. Engine is running well. I just need to find a CAT to stop the exhaust leak.

Never throw away/recycle Subaru Parts, you will miss them! New 98 has a hole in the CAT. I recycled 4 of them a year ago and now I need one! Anyone have one around? Second, the Key is stuck in the ignition. It will not come out. With the old trans it was fine. I think that switch is in the shifter and not part of the transmission so I don't know what would have caused it. Troubleshooting to do. The engine was dirty as can be. Headed to the car wash with degreaser. It's much cleaner now but developed a stumble. I put the proper NGK plug wires on it as it still had the DOHC 2.5 wires. I may just let it dry out while I'm off on Holiday for 2 weeks. Time to clean the garage!

Pull the plugs and see what they look like. NGK copper core plugs and NGK plug wires.

Matching trans out of the COS You Pull and Pay yesterday with only 109K on the car. It looked like it threw the T-belt, so hope the trans is good. It was not hit hard so I suspect it was in the yard for an engine failure.
