aftermarket fuel tank for 86gl wagon?
Groucho replied to Groucho's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
thanks bennie! yeah, that’s kinda looks like what my options are .. $1000 fuel cell, $500 surge pump setup. actually i think you gave me the answer i needed- junkyard EFI tank. hmmm -
Groucho started following aftermarket fuel tank for 86gl wagon?

hey! i’m finishing my ea to ej swap and wondering if anyone has recommended an aftermarket baffled fuel tank that fits the gl wagon? i replaced the fuel pump & lines and i’m worried that the more powerful pump will cavitate with a 1/2 empty tank, especially uphill. thoughts? thanks, groucho

heeeeeey. i’ve been lurking the forums since buying the murder machine in 2017 & getting so much info from y’all thought i’d finally post some photos. 1986 gl wagon, ea81 swap with weber conversion, 4 inch sjr lift. 6 lug conversion currently running 215/75/15. all the interior lights have been deleted, & the cooling fan is on a toggle - i live in leadville so it’s usually cool enuf. straight exhaust to annoy the neighbors. just installed the steel front bumper & winch!

Thanks! The AC has been deleted, so I think it originally ran 2 belts. I think I'll try and replace the serpentine - I've heard some belts make more noise when there's a slight pulley misalignment and others dont - and I'll look at the idler when I'm changing it out.

I'm having the squealing problem with my ea81, which is running one belt for the 4 pully. Are you saying rebuilding the idler will help eliminate the squeak, of do I need to run the other belt? Sorry to thread jack the squeal is killing me...

Thanks that's the info I needed! I saw u post somewhere else that u run the factory struts with your lifts - u think that's the best set up? Only wondering because the mechanic I bought the wagon from said I would need to replace the struts ...

Yeah so fun! I'm living up around Grass Valley & it's basically endless fire roads..

I just hooked up a 87 GL wagon with a SJR lift and some other mods, but little info about them (and of course no papers..). I'm trying to determine which lift is on the car - can I assume it's a 3" lift if all of the lift hardware measures 3"? I was also told I would need to replace the struts eventually - tho it's running fine on stock struts now. Any suggestions on the best setup? Thanks for any info - I'm new to the Subaru world. In fact, this is the first car I've owned since the 90's.
