Got mirror handle and tailgate, though maybe not color matched to yours. Message me if you're interested.

I needed this so badly. Thank you! -
Mechanical fan
Movinasfastasican replied to Movinasfastasican's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
Any advice on how to do that? I have no idea what I'm doing and would be more comfortable just dropping a new fan blade on it, but I'm open to learning if you can point me in the right direction for the info. Most stuff I've seen online is for a specific vehicle and I don't know how easily the info ports over. -
My mechanical fan was brittle and exploded. Luckily nothing damaged the radiator, but I can find a replacement for the life of me. Hitting the junk yard tomorrow, any other ideas? I have NO IDEA how to wire a dual electric fan into this rig. Please advise, this is my daily driver and watching her run hot is breaking my heart. 1979 BRAT. I've found plenty that can bolt on but none that fit in the space I need. Smallest I've seen is a 12in fan online, will that fit?? Want to be sure before I spend 60 friggin bucks.

Fried fusible link
Movinasfastasican replied to Movinasfastasican's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
Hm... pulled one but when I reattached it tried to fry again. Pulled it off quick, seems okay. Going to try to replace the voltage regulator next, read somewhere that needs to be replaced at the same time as the alternator. Unless anyone else has an idea. -
Like the title says, I fried my fusible link. I do nlike t have the know-how or tools to repair this one, where can I find on of these things? Please help, this is my DD. 1979 Subaru Brat.

Hey everyone! I just bought a 1979 Brat that I plan on making my DD. I am extremely excited by it, it is very clean and runs well (for now). My plan is to restore the car a piece or two at a time and eventually get this this in great rather than good shape, but I'm running into issues. For instance... where do you find parts for these? This community seems really great. Been lurking on the board for a few weeks now. I'll be checking back a couple times a day now that I have an account. There is so much good info here!
