  1. It means a pressure sensor is sensing boost pressure. I'll have to look and see if I have a hose routing diagram for an 86. Hush

  6. Welcome to the board. Had the same problem with a turbo wagon gl-10. We got parts from a junk yard in oregon (west on the interstate of Boise) Still have all the air ones and the parts. (Left rear went out) You can try going to www.car-parts.com and looking for the parts to do the conversion. Air compressor is located behind the right front fender (access through the plastic above the wheel) and the computer is under the drivers seat. What part of Idaho are you in/from? I'm in boise county. Hush
  7. The under hood label on ours is gone and I need to do some touch up stuff. Can anyone with one of these look up the code for me. Dark brown 86 gl-10 wagon. Thanks all Hush

  9. Been using a pump off of a 87 turbo mpfi wagon on a loyale spfi wagon for 6 months.... seems to be fine.... mpfi puts out a different pressure but the inline regulator for the fuel rails sets the pressure right. Hush
  10. Will the spider gears out of an 85 ea82 d/r 5 speed 4x4 work in an 91 pushbutton 5 speed 4x4. Anyone know?? Son hit a big rock and tore up something in the 91 trans.... sounds like the spider gears. Have an extra d/r that chunks going into 1st so I thought that it should become a donor. Hush
  11. A couple years ago I saw at an electronics super sale a stereo that was set up for the loyale style body. I need to get something for a gl-10 and she doesn't want to loose the trip computer and such, so I am looking for one that is a drop in to that area. Anybody found any decent ones? Hush
  12. Am doing a complete reseal on a 86 gl-10 including the trans and replacing the rack and pinion with a used one that hopefully doesn't leak like the old one. Question is on the turbo anyone have a good source for the gaskets on the inlet and outlet exhaust side? Checked with the dealer and 50 for the two seems a bit steep. Hush
  13. Any pictures? The old lady wants to get out of the wagon she uses and something more sporty.... Sounds like this could be something she would be interested. Any kinda idea on the price range with you doing the work mentioned? Hush
  14. Nope was refering to the differential in the trans.... I know that when I had to replace the spider gears in one 10 years ago I didn't get any atf on my hands (don't know anything about the inside of auto trans and don't want to know). Hush
  15. Thanks caleb, The 84 was a late model 84 and did have the d/r 5 speed bolted to an ea82 carbed engine so that would bolt right up to this, and Then I would have to change the rear diff and also fix the syncro in the trans....... sounds like more work than I want to do..... Could you check the price on the 3at that is in your area and possibly shipping to 83629 for me? Also is your manual in paper or electronic form.... would primarily be interested in sections dealing with the differential removal and reassemly parts. Thanks Hush
  16. The old lady has a 86 gl-10 turbo wagon with auto and 4x4. It developed a whine in the trans that I suspuct as ring/pinion bearing going out (also chewed about half way through the diff. dipstick) so it is coming out. She wants me to look inside and see if it can be fixed with just a bearing or so...... Back when I did this kind of stuff for a living I was inside a 4x4 auto and did have to replace the spider gears in one..... but that was 10+ years ago. My questions would be 1. on this trans is it 23 or 25 spline in the axles? 2. Anyone have a tech manual on this thing...? 3. Worse case senario (alllllll tore up inside), does anyone have a cheap replacement for this anywhere near Boise? Found a couple at junkyards but would rather deal with someone who has a clue about all this. 4. She does insist on keeping the auto but another possibility I am thinking about is to drop a dual range manual (need to fix third gear syncro) in to it out of a 84 wagon..... Anyone know what the ration on the auto in the gl-10 would be? I know the one in the 84 is a 3.9? Also on the agenda for this car 1. Rack and pinion leaking (coming out and a $40 jy special going in). 2. Engine coming out and getting new seals, timing belts, reseal oil pump, new valve cover and oil pan gaskets. 3. Thinking about removing the bottom of the airbox and gutting the first cat out for more HP. Anything I am missing on thoughts about making this back to a reliable daily driver? Hush
  17. Go to N.A.P.A. They usually have them in stock for about $22 Hush
  18. 86 gl-10 wagon 212,000 replaced motor 87 gl wagon 217,000 replaced motor 91 loyale wagon 283,000 original Hush
  19. In my opinion going with the two core radiator is the best bet. Several write ups have been done on this engine about the internal problems with coolant flow. i.e. the passenger side gets less of the coolant from the water pump. I have seen several toasted ones and always get a double core one for these to halp overcome some of the internal problems. radiator.com has them for pretty cheap and they deliver it right to your door. Hush
  20. Thanks so much for the reports... My son was impressed and asked if you would be kind enough to run his brat #'s Thanks JF2AT53B4CE505733 Hush hjack@ctcweb.net
  21. Could you check JF1AN43B3HC460053 and JF2AN52B4MD414383 also if possible the vista is JB3BG39D5JZ033408 Thanks in advance Hush hjack@ctcweb.net
  22. I would appreciate 1 or maybe 2 but I don't have all the info right at hand. I will get it ready and post it here tomorrow nite. Thanks. Hush P.S. Any chance of getting one done on a 88 colt vista wagon.....?
  23. My sons brat did the same kinda thing. His is an 82 model that originally had 4 headlights and they took it out and replace them with 1 on each side. The lights would come one dim, but if you pulled up one the clutch pedal they worked great..... Pain in the butt to drive that way though. Tracked it down to a bad ground between the body and the engine... Hush
