I did it and I'm pretty sure correctly. Didn't make a difference. Pretty sure I bent a valve ???? -

This process is so far beyond my knowledge ????. This is gonna take me forever -
Just thought i would share this awesome thing. A guy on ebay is selling an ea81/ea82 to ej22 swap with all the parts on ebay. Low mile engine. If I had the money and it wasn't 8 hours away, I'd be picking it up More than likely the seller is on this website too. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Complete-Subaru-EJ22-engine-with-EA81-EA82-conversion-setup-/202151761344

Just found it. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/166686-dont-adjust-valve-clearance-sticker-should-i-anyway/ I have the FSM in the Brat I'll check it out tomorrow

I did before I posted, but all the posts were people adjusting them by choice and all the replies were "don't adjust them they shouldn't ever need it." I'll keep looking though.

I have an 85 brat that I bought a gasket kit for. When I replace the head gaskets I accidentally adjusted one of the valves. Total stupidity on my part but nothing I can do about it now. I tried to fix it by using the adjustments . 01 for the intake and .014 for the exhaust. I didn't realize at the time that mine wasn't the solid lifters but the hydraulic ones. I know now they're the hydraulic ones because they have the little locks for the nuts. Now that the engine is back together and ready to start it runs terribly and ticks. I haven't ran it more than 30 seconds because I figured what I did. So my question is what do I adjust the valves to for the hydraulic ones?

I have an 85 Brat that's a 3AT that I've almost finished putting back together after head gasket replacement. I got a new radiator off of Rock Auto. My question is is there a difference between the radiator in Auto and manual or are they the same. It looks like my OEM one except the radiator cap hole is bigger and the inside of the reservoir looks different. I'm making sure it still works as the auto trans cooler. I have pics if needed. You are so right. To be fair he did feel bad, but I'm probably gonna super glue it to his forehead.

I got lucky. I just pulled with my car again after cutting and chiseling for 2 days straight and it came out. I vacuumed out the pieces and am cleaning it up. Thank you all for the help!

Here are some updated pics after beating the piss out of it for a month. It's far in there now too. https://ibb.co/krgQrn https://ibb.co/dvZ0P7 https://ibb.co/gYEBWn https://ibb.co/hUZpHS

Great. I might just say screw it and use an air chisel... Kidding... kinda

Well I tied the pump to my Forester again but didn't pull it. I just left it so it was under tension. I then started hitting the pump with a screwdriver and hammer to get it to turn hoping it would release. It spun the full 360° around and didn't move a millimeter forward.... I'm at a loss now
-
Yes. The pictures are attached to the original question.

Ya I probably did make it worse. I had been tapping it and spinning it trying to work it out for the past 3 weeks so I thought I'd tried a little brute Force (or a lot). The funny part is even after pulling it with the car it still spins with a hit from a chisel and hammer...

If anyone is still following this topic the pump is still stuck. I drilled into it and put a tow hook into it. I hooked it up to my foz with a tow rope and literally pulled the entire Brat with the back wheels locked across my driveway. Am I missing something or do I just have the worst luck in the world??
