  1. I believe you have the engine number off the bellhousing, and the number is from a EA81 motor, which may not translate with an EA82 manual. I'll take a peak at a manual.
  2. The Brat was sold in the states until 1987. I believe it was sold in Australia until 1991 and apparrently 1994 in other parts of the world. We also never got the long bed or the 2wd Brat either.
  3. Hey, of the topic but... I just wanted to say the Jackman's really set the Brat off. I saw you on 405 the other day.
  4. Those look pretty good. Might be worth keeping them around.
  5. I'll fess up to teasing Rob. I just kept telling him that he shouldn't collect parts for something he didn't have yet.:-p
  6. Not to step on any toes but this is my answer to the linkage problem and didn't cost a thing. All the relevant parts came off of the Hitachi I had just removed. This way also eliminates the wear groove most encounter in the sheathing for the cable.
  7. Well, after a week of fighting my computer I am finally back on line. After many hours of downloading virus software and patches I find that the problem was not a virus but a constipated computer. It basically was so full of stuff that it just couldn't take it any more. $40.00 and a two hour phone call with Hewlett Packard I am back up and running. Some things I learned from this experience, Adaware isn't all it's cracked up to be. You do need to do the system utilities from time to time. Actually, a disc clean up at least once a week and a defrag at least once a month. The tech at HP gave me a site called Xcleaner. It cleaned all sorts of stuff that the other programs missed. So, all is well and I'm back!!
  8. I would put the old coil back on and see if it will start. Depending on which coil you installed there have been reports of some bad accell coils surfacing.
  9. I understand completely. We knew this could happen at any time. Be safe and come home safely. I will call ya' If you have to split before you hear from me send me a message or letter. Ken
  10. '85's were an odd lot. I know of an '85 GL10 MPFI(non-turbo) 2wd auto. It has all the options but doesn't have the standard moonroof that was part of the GL10 pkg. I would say the VIN will be the deciding factor. The rest is just fluff anyways.
  11. '85 RX should still have the placards on the rear doors. It could have had these parts transplanted into it. RX's definitely did not have digi's or Sunroofs. I have an '85 full line brochure that I will check out and let you know what else I can find out. I tried to check Corky's site for the VIN info but it appears to be off-line at the moment.
  12. Irony?, well, I was looking at the line up pics and asked my wife what she saw and that you guys were doomed from that point on. I really hope no one drove on the grounds. Not a bad turn out at all though. I just realized viewing the group photo that have personally met 6 of the people in that pic.(and the photographer I believe{Vickaroo})
  13. Go to the Georgetown testing station. There is an emissions tech that works out of his van across the street. He is state certified and guarrantees that he can pass you or he won't charge. He can also help with exemptions if neccessary.
  14. For something like that I recommend Brian's Subaru in Burien. He's been in the biz for 20+ yrs and knows his stuff. I offer my services but I am behind on the stuff I have to do right now and it could take a while to get to.
  15. Mike, do the fornts and add the rear discs. Completely flush the lines with new fluid and all should be good. Long pedal traval is usually a sign that the rears are out of adjustment.
  16. Was wondering about your where-abouts Dante. Glad to hear things are going good. Sounds like fun. We should be getting ready for a run shortly. Keep an eye on the board. Ken
  17. I'll ante up as well. I know Tim and Mick are prepared for just about anything trail wise. Hope to see pics and hear that all get out OK.
  18. They work fine when they are adjusted up. However, that doesn't last. I don't like the fact that a car made in the late 70's and up was done with manually adjusted brakes. Let us know how they feel in 3 months or so.
  19. CIS turned up nothing. However, a search for CIS mechanical fuel injection produced this post from Noah. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=2551&highlight=mechanical+fuel+injection
  20. Fuel mixture adjustments will also eliminate the rough idle along with the timing adjustments.
  21. Hey Brian, glad to see you're still about. If you have any concerns about passing emissions contact Ed and he'll let you know where to find the emissions guy in Seattle. He can usually get it adjusted to pass. He works out of his truck next door to the Georgetown emissions station. Ken
