  1. Corky, do you want Turbo 4WD or Turbo 4WD rx? I have both. Neither are brand new but both are in decent/good shape.
  2. Most do have normal bolts by now. Mine are the first I've seen and Jibs are the second I've heard of.
  3. Here's the link to his post, http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=14119&highlight=solo
  4. I don't think anyone did the 4X100 but I believe some sone did a 5X5.5 swap. I think the lugs would be close to the mounting bolt pattern of the hub to rotor pattern.
  5. Ouch!! Are the bolts for the strut/knuckle threaded all the way to the bolt head or just part way? Reason I ask is that I've seen the wrong bolt(ball joint bolt) installed in the knuckle. It tightens down but doesn't get tight enough to hold the knuckle to the strut.
  6. The original bolts were a special inverted hex with a dot in the middle. You should be able to get the tool at any tool house or by buying a cheap set of bits at any tool house also. My '85 has the same bolts holding the seats in.
  7. Very nice. It will be a real looker when you get it all done.
  8. Well, I did it yesterday. It's in and done. Mine came from an '86 GL10 turbo sedan. I cut off the brackets and rewelded them to the trailing arms. I had to cut about 1 1/2" off of the ends of the sway bar. Fits nice and clean. It's tucked up out of the way just as stock would be. Handling is improved dramatically. Time to get the 14's refinished and new tires put on. I'll probably go with Zeiks or Proxes from Shwab. I think I'll go with 195/60R14's this time though.
  9. Anyone ever see a factory sway bar on an EA81 model? Anyone else ever put one on an EA81 model? I just installed a modified RX rear sway bar on my '85 Brat. It really tightens things up. I will have to get new tires to replace the 20 yr old BFG's . Gave Turbone(Rob) a ride in it tonight and it is noticably stiffer. Handles most corners with ease. Hit one corner fast enough that the front tires slipped but not the back. Definitely needs tires though.
  10. See your other post. The Loyales were a bit different.
  11. The Loyale auto's did come with 3.90 rear diffs. I think they did it to try and give them some pep. So, to answer your question, the trans is probably worn out. Sorry.
  12. That's cool. I remember seeing that one a few years ago and thought it was kind of cool. Congrats and hope to see it soon.
  13. Good job, I missed this post before. My bro-in-law found that harness one day a while back. Makes a nice upgrade, just flip the button and you don't have to turn off the car.
  14. Well, I doubt you hurt the bearings. If anything you'll need new outer seals and maybe brake pads. Just check the calipers to make sure you didn't bugger them and the rest is easy. Shouldn't have hurt anything though. I would suggest that before you roll it much more that you remove the ub and insert the stub completely then reinstall the hub and tighten it down. That should insure that everything is where it should be.
  15. The flyers will and should have the URL for the website and maybe rather than directions on the flyers we can provide links to directions on the site. Directions will be a nice thing to add though. It will give people an idea where they are going.
  16. Jeff, it looks great! I just think to appeal to all we should give some of the other models some air time as well. SVX's, XT(6)s, 360's would be good as they are the one models that usually get neglected. Thanks again to all. Nicky, when you get ready please send the URL to me as well.
  17. Well, it helps to have a better half that is understanding and patient. You've got it a little easier than some of us. We have wives, kids and other things to keep on an even keel. I guess the most important thing you can do is listen to the signals from her. She'll let you know when she thinks you're neglecting her. That's when you will have to sacrifice your time with the "projects" for the benefit of the relationship. It works with understanding from both sides. If she truly loves you she will take you with your hobbies as well. Good luck!!
  18. If you want bullet proof use the R-180 from the Z. A little bigger but has really nice flanged hubs and is alot beefier. Know to hold up to 300+HP without issue.
  19. You don't want to countersink them. Spotfacing is the optimum approach. It will maintain a flat surface for the studs to sit into. On a side note, Gonehuntin, get a hold of me when you have time to talk. Ken
  20. lol, yeah, right. Hopefully in the next few months I can come to the fabrication stages on my newest brain short circuit. It should push the envelope and the imagination over the edge. I have to finished the mental imaging first then start collecting parts. But you know how that goes.
  21. EBAY! Like the commercial says you'll find everything on EBay!!
  22. Cool. Making big progresses on the "new" project.
  23. Well it fits in my '85 Brat. Everything that came in the Redline/Weber kit is installed, including the tall filter. I do have good motor mounts and brand new trans mounts. I have zero issues with any of the parts including the adapter. Most issues that have come up have been around the EA82 installation. The adapter fits and covers the intake just fine. I did grind the intake to match the adapter and allow for smoother air/fuel flow. There is a small amount of contact between filter and hood but, it doesn't bother either the hood or filter. http://usmb.net/gallery/album222
