  1. It never hurts to check torque again. With the roller cams you do need to get oil all over everything to help lubricate untill full oil pressure is attained.
  2. Sounds like the teeth on the belt are missing at the crank pulley. Or you managed to break a cam some how.
  3. Did you really just tell him to install the crank gear without a keyway? Unbelievable!
  4. Cool, we can get it down the hill for you. After that, who knows!!
  5. 4WD with all-terrains should be fine. As long as they have tread on them. No baldies!
  6. I am in Bonney Lake. Let me know what you need. If I don't do it I can tell you who locally will.
  7. One moderator editted this thread. One Admin deleted half the thread. I am locking it. Stay on topic. This is not an EJ swap thread. Rick, just because you don't like something doesn't mean others can not build them. Back off a little!
  8. Date; Dec. 4th 2010 (Saturday) Time; Meet at McDonalds in Enumclaw @ 8AM, Leave @ 8:30AM for Greenwater. This IS NOT a cruise. We drive up the same highway as everyone else. We do try to stay in a group. However, any rump roast hattery will be dealt with immediately and harshly. We do not tolerate this type of behaviour. This is a family event and must remain so. There are other people on the mountain and we MUST respect their presence as well. If someone besides myself approaches you and suggests that you might be getting a little out of hand please listen to them. It will be much better hearing it from them then me. OK, all of that stuff out of the way. This event has been going on for 11 yrs now. It is a fun get-together. We bring propane heaters, pop-ups, firewood for a (small) group fire, food is provided by you but we will have a couple of camp stoves to use if you'd like. TREE PERMITS: These are available on the day we go up. The forest service sells them for $10.00 per permit. Any tree up to 12' is allowed to be removed. VEHICLE REQUIREMENTS: 4wd/awd IS REQUIRED! Sorry, but this is a rule that we will not alter. You must have snow tires as well. It does get icy up there and trust me, you'll want to be prepared for that. Please bring extra clothes and a couple of blankets in the vehicle for safety purposes. Gloves and appropriate clothing. Last years was very cold! We go up to have fun and hang out with old and new friends. This is not intended to be anything but that. Please come along and have a good time. Meet some new friends and see some old ones as well. See ya there.
  9. Not going to argue with you on this. I have witnessed it on my own car. Tuner also witnessed it. Pulls timing big at the upper rpm's. Simple as that.
  10. You can remove them and the car will run fine at low rpm. At high rpm the ECU will pull timing and you will lose performance and fuel economy. They only throw a cel after they completely fail. While they are failing they cause all sorts of runnability issues.
  11. The cam stuff I know. We have cams in stock. I would recommend a torque cam. As far as EA82 spfi pistons go, I believe they fit. I know some people have done them. I do not know for sure to what benefit they have found. I would search and/or ask on the board for anyone who has done it. Machining of the heads I would recommend Heads up in Auburn. Block machining I would say Earl's in Burien.

  12. No problem. We'll meet again.

  13. LOL, Mike, you're killing me... The mirrors are visible. '86 and later. The steering wheel is visible. '87 and later. Anything else?
  14. Good advice, you should follow it. My mind never stops!
  15. Oh yeah, that is my only goal these days Rick!
  16. I don't suppose that the Oregon plates could be any kind of an indicator of location?
  17. No, it can't. '86's had the small bumpers. That has the larger bumpers. '87 and newer.
  18. I don't know the name of the model. She is attractive and wears nice boots though. Sorry, it is Friday after all. Looks like a 87 and later gl 3dr. Probably front wheel drive. reasonable on gas. No powerhouse by any means. A few miles but if maintained should have a few left. Price is right.
  19. In stock applications, yes. In modified conditions, no. When durations increase on modified camshafts you have to verify fit and clearance of valve to piston clearance. As far as Arty's engine though. It simply means that when, not if, you break a timing belt, the valves will not bend from contact with the piston.
  20. While your participation is welcome, your bad information is not. Please check up and be accurate with your postings.
  21. That is it. The shaft housing for the torque converter has seals that wear out. Nice research. Wish more people would research and give answers that have merit instead of opinions that are uninformed.
