  1. Good. We will have several full sized 4x4's in attendance as well. A properly prepared vehicle should not have any problems though!!
  2. Forecasts are calling for snow @ or above 3000 foot elevations. See everyone this weekend!!
  3. Yes, the office will be open. It is just down the street from McDonalds.
  4. Your ratio is 3.700. The ratio for the Isuzu is 4.56. The closest thing you will find would be a 3.90 or 4.11 ratio in a Nissan 710. You will have to run wheel spacers on the rear. You will have to change out the auto for a manual.
  5. Get some mud on the show queen. You'll feel better...
  6. That was one of the best flops I had seen in a long time. Super slow motion flop. I believe he called it the 1/4 mile of hell. It was an impressive "little" section of trail. Between the big rocks and bigger rocks it was fun to navigate. Your Toyota does just fine. First timer trail proved that!
  7. Did anyone have pics to share? It was a little rougher up there than most anticipated. The poor Leggy took a beating. Sorry about the bumper. Jeff was a little hard on Butters too. It's his story. I'll let him tell it!
  8. Which proved he used the search function! Back off!
  9. If you do not have the education to write a proper sentence then maybe, just maybe, you do not have the proper education to redesign the bearing system of a car... Laziness is no excuse for the school system. Not listening to those who know how these things work is plain ignorance!
  10. Give it up Brian. He isn't gonna get it. Unfortunately we will see him listed in a Darwin award post somewhere on the internet. Ferp... punctuation is our friend. Do not be afraid of it. I think you should steer clear of the "cocktail napkins" as you would find this whole matter easier to understand. Two different set ups. A free spinning wheel is not the same as a driven axle. Maybe we should "draw it" out for you!
  11. How ever you want to do it. I can give you the information. What you do with it is up to you...
  12. Don't go doorless until you get some kind of an exo or subframe. The doors are part of the unibody structure. Besides, if you happen across LEO that knows his stuff he will write you a ticket. Can't run doorless on a unibody!!
  13. And just to keep the record accurate... Same hill different view!
  14. We will have provisions for fire and camp stoves. We generally have a meet/greet type gathering at the beginning then off on your own or with small group for driving and tree gathering. Things people can bring. *Food, for themselves *Firewood, for the group. If you wish to purchase a bundle of wood. This can be done @ the Greenwater store or most of the convenience type stores along Hwy410. *Water, for themselves and group *BYOB *Clothes for wet or cold *Shovel for digging out of the snow *Saw for cutting down tree. The Forest Service recommends hand saws. *Tree permits will be available @ the Ranger station down the road. $10.00 *Snow tires & chains. These are technically required to be in the vehicle at all times. They have issued tickets in the past. Our groups have not been checked. Play this how you choose. *And most importantly... the willingness to have a fun time. This run has been going on for a long time. We have had very few issues over the years because we have a few rules that are not bendable. ******************tery on the public hwy will not be tolerated. Our families and children are present. Once you are off the beaten path you can do as you please. But when we are in the group please realize that you are representing all of us. All are welcome. We have Subaru, Toyota, Jeep, Dodge and many other makes over the years.
  15. I guess so. I have seen them bolt on and go. A couple of friends did just that on wheelers and never looked back.
  16. You also have assumption. I have never bought a new carb. I have tuned every Weber to perform the way it should. And, have tuned most of my friends used ones as well. My point was simply that a new carb can be the answer to his problem. Simply because it appears he does not have the apptitude to do the carb work he has started. Eliminating vaccuum lines just to "clean up" the engine compartment is not the correct approach. You eliminate lines from other components that have been removed. Usually, a hitachi carb needs the things he has removed to operate correctly. Point proven by this thread! If you want to "clean up" the engine bay start with the carb. Get rid of it and install something that will improve performance and drivability.
  17. If you buy "new" from the manufacturer and give specific details they will set it up to those specs. Buying "used" will give you the "id think" results... Your comments show your lack of knowledge on the subject at hand.
  18. Actually, it will. Especially if you buy a Weber that is jetted for a Subaru. Your power will increase. Your mileage can also increase. And, if properly tuned will have less emissions and run much cleaner...
  19. I imagine it would work. But, I have been turning wrenches for 30+yrs and have never heard of doing it that way before. Nipper, have you done it this way? Or did you hear someone else doing it this way? Ken
