LMAO point... Gloyale! My point was not really to ridicule, sorry. It just looks messy man. Too many bends and abrupt turns to really work well. Sure, it gets air to the intake but it could be so much better if you cleaned it up.
-
Too many bends to be efficient. Looks lke it was built by a preschooler using tinker toys!

You are right, all the EJ "blocks" are the same width. Add the heads and everyone is a different width. Fast on and off the street? That ended the conversation for me.
-
Way too many bends! You should have payed better attention to Jesse's example.

Now, compare this set up and the quad set up. Not nearly as strong. The quad stuff is not strong enough to carry the weight of a car.

I guess you decided not to search for the dozens of discussions that already existed on this subject. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=32800&highlight=trax http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=106392&highlight=trax http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=58933&highlight=trax Here are three that pertain to your discussion.

Whats the deal with 1st Subaru?
Qman replied to Txakura's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
If you order with Jason or Jamie your order will be there the next day, maybe second. Unless the part is back ordered. Which may be the case with 1st. Let me know how it goes. I have contacts in Subaru corporate that would love to know this type of thing is happening. -

Yes, that is what Scarff and the phone number would indicate. -

I believe 1st subaruparts is now run by Walker Subaru in Renton Washington. Seems there in-person service reputation has finally gone to the internet as well. Go direct with either Jamie at Chaplins(http://www.chaplinssubarugenuineparts.com/ ) or Jason at Scarff( 1-866-528-5282 ). You will need to ask for internet pricing when talking to Jason. Both are very good at what they do. Both will provide you with excellent customer service and prompt shipping -
Actually, he OWNED DC shoes. He sold it long ago. He did buy his car and had the support of Subaru. As far as money... to say that someone does not need any more money seems somewhat short sighted. Especially since you do not know him or his drive. And, when he started he wasn't that good. He spent time at Oneil's school. He improved himself from there. He still has times when he takes unneccessary risks that take him out of contention. He will learn that finishing is more important than finishing first. I know Ken Block. I have spoken with him many times. He is very passionate about rally. But, he is young in the sport. And as such, there are growing pains. If you continually use your own money to fund a race team you eventually run out of money. The fastest way to make a million dollars racing is to start with two!

Subaru isn't going anytime soon from what I hear. I am sure he'll do fine financially and driving. There will be a growing period though.

Seriously? It gets him a seat in the WRC. No brainer!

2004 STI block
Qman replied to bratsrus1's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVX
The pistons will have to have offset combustion areas or you will have to rework the combustion chamber of the EJ22. The heads should bolt up. I believe there may be an issue with a water jacket though. Try searching on RS25, I saw some threads there about it. If you are getting new pistons I still think the best route is with the earlier N/A motor. Adjust your compression and run with it. Besides, the EJ22 heads will fit for sure. -

Jerry, if you want to build a franken-motor use a 1999-2004 2.5 N/A block. STi block will have lower compression and there will be large differences between the combustion chamber and quench area. -
Buy OEM or used. Do not buy from a bolt supplier unless you can be sure that they are the proper bolts. The flywheel bolts are low profile for a reason. Too big of a head may cause interference between clutch disc and flywheel. Besides, for the price quoted, it won't cosdt much to get the right ones.

I would question a tranny shop owner that didn't notice the transaxle vs a transmission. After building an adapter to bolt them together. Then figuring out the set up for the convertor it might work.
