  1. Sorry for the short notice. Thought I had posted it already. Sunday, May 24th, 10AM to 4PM. Burgers and dogs. Cars to see. Briing your favorite car and hang out. There will also be a cam grinding seminar. The first 2 people to respond(posted on other forums too) with 2.5 SOHC cams wil get the grind of their choice for $50.00/cam. One session at 10AM and one at 1PM. Delta Camshaft 1938 Tacoma Ave S Tacoma, WA 98402
  2. What, did you do it? That kind of statement adds nothing to the topic. Someone probably did as you describe. But the rest is out of context. Although, I would be more apt to believe someone rested the car on a jack stand there. All hoists I have seen have rubber pads designed not to bend over the metal.
  3. Trust me, with the motor that is in there it already is "KILLER"... I know cuz I helped build it!!
  4. Wow Mick, that turned out really well. Have you figured out articulation numbers yet?
  5. Rob, if you want something from a business you must contact them.
  6. When assembled correctly the belts marks will line up correctly. You must first set the cam gears and crank pulley to their appropriate marks. Then compress the tensioner(replace if oil is present around the plunger) and insert an allen wrench or drill bit or whatever you have that fits in the hole. Install your belt and release the tensioner. Rotate the engine two revolutions and verify that the marks all line up. It is recommended that you replace cam seals, water pump(if older than a year) valve cover gaskets and spark plug tube seals. If the valves are bent it can still be repaired. Bent valves do not condemn an engine. Search for Delta Cam, they do head and cams for our cars.
  7. Why would you replace the engine for bent valves? No, really, why would you recommend that?
  8. Never adjust tire pressure down after driving. ALL tire pressure should be checked cold.
  9. You'll notice that there have been zero updates since the last post 8 months ago. The best advice I can give you As a new member is search and check the dates of postings. I have not seen or heard from Albie since WCSS10.
  10. Seems you are the "new" guy. They have been here since 11-08. They have many posts and are welcome here. Post what you know!
  11. Hill holders work great when they are adjusted properly. If they are adjusted right you will not even know they are there. I used them in all my rigs that had them. Learning to use the clutch to disengage it is a must though.
  12. Yes, take the top off the pump. There is a small screen in it. make sure that it is clean and that the passage is clear of blockage.
  13. When I did mine('96 Impreza) I lifted the front with a floor jack to get the wheels off the ground. Filled the system with PS fluid. Let it run then went full lock left then right a few times. Rechecked the fluid level and did it again. I believe the key is to take the load off the wheels and the pump by lifting it off of the ground. Try that and I will check the actual procedure and get back to you.
  14. It does over time. But there is a procedure for it. Once i get his info I will see if I can find relevant information.
  15. Rear passenger laws differ from state to state. You will need to check local ordinances to be sure. I know they banned rear passengers in a lot of states. With or without seats and belts. Too many injuries and deaths.
