You'd be surprised. I used my little 4.8K winch to flip over a full sized Chev twice on the same trail. Also righted a couple of 'yota's on another trail. Tie it down to secure it if neccessary.

Dave, there are a lot of autoXer's @ Nasioc. Check it out for details and info. I know they do it at the Everett Boeing parking lot on weekends in the summer. I may also have some info. I'll check and get back to you. Ken

Got the alt in but still need to wire it.

Almost correct, MPFI came in the 85 2wd GL10's and XT's, without the turbo.
-
Actually, the facts you propose are extremely flawed. I, as well as a handful of others have used SPFI cams on carbed motors creating more HP and torque throughout the powerband. Get the facts before you add information that you think is correct. Factory torque and HP specs will argue that fact as well. Higher rating in both catagories for the SPFI.

Use which ever idlers are newest with the least amount of miles. TGW is correct that the tensioner can be replaced with the EJ22 style one. The 2.5 tensioner will be OK if it isn't leaking at the shaft. As far as using a 50 shot for offroading, not a good idea in my opinion. Extra pressure that the deck doesn't need. The hybrid will give you more than ample torque. The D/R will be a nice addition for hill climbs. I would try to find a F/T unit though.

Allied Armament Update 300 Hp Wagon
Qman replied to Allied Armament's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
+1 Bring a trailer to cart the broken carcass back to Scapoose. No offense intended, it's just that I have seen Albie drive before. -
I should be ready to break my piece by then. I will be trailering though. Dam trailer queens!!

Crack kills... Have you spoken in a manner that others can understand recently? Or are you just ready for the institute?

Here's an idea. If you have something to say just say it. We really do not need any of the rhymes and acid laden sentences to try to figure out.

you guys like tricked out brats? (pics)

No need Skip, unlike most of these folks you have a life outside of Subaru and aren't here every waking minute of every day. I merged this with the last posting of this. PM has been sent. I am not a huge fan of the finished product. However, the amount of work and attention to detail is incredible. Some people just can't see the trees for the forest. -
What do you intend to do after you install a cage? Is this for Rally, rallyX or just for the fun(safety) of it?
-
SCCA is the sanctioning body for RallyX. Check the SCCA site for your area(or area's near you) for info.

Someone has to do it!! There is a wiring diagram for it in the manual I think as well.

Suggested Spark Plugs, Oil and filters
Qman replied to nathan.chase's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
And for $6-7.00 you can get the OEM filter and crush ring. NGK's are definitely the plugs of choice. Another vote for Castrol. -
You need the light. Unbolt the whole thing. The switch plus the plug and as much wiring as you can pull. The relay. Which is mounted on the passenger side strut tower and all the wiring from the relay to the light. You have to pull it from the harness. But it fairly easy to do. If any of the three things is missing it makes the install quite a bit more difficult. Also, the grill is needed for the pattern to cut out the other grill.

I was the first to fit a cyclops to a honeycomb grill. Here is the Hatch and the Brat I did it to.

My idea for multiple seating options for the Brat
Qman replied to Qman's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Good point. This was purely hypothetical. -
That sounds cool. Take some pics!!

Typical, found that most people there did not know that the down hill vehicle needs to pull to the shoulder. Gravity will get you out of most things you can get into. Scoobyclimbs is very correct in his summation of the day. So many people that were there were so unprepared that if something had gone wrong someone may have died up there. I lost count of the number of rigs with street tires that were stuck in less than 6" of snow. And not all were 2wd's. Oh well, at least we were prepared and ready to help those we came upon. Remember, never turn your back on a stuck rig. The next one you see may be yours. Thanks again for the loaner Rob. It was fun to drive a big Hatchback again. Made me miss my old one. Thanks for the pics and story Brian. And thanks to all that came along this year. I hope you had fun and maybe learned something as well. Ken

Is this a Subaru only trip or will other's be allowed? Eric may be interested in going.
