  1. The problem is multi-layered I believe. The towing weight, the tow vehicle weight and the braking ratio. I have towed with a Hatchback before. It was an experience that will not be forgotten. No injury or damage but had it been any further than a mile or so it could have been disasterous. With a properly equipped trailer that has trailer brakes to assist in stopping I think you could safely tow 500lbs. Any more than that and you are putting yourself and everyone around you on the road at risk.
  2. They did not "lose" their domain. They shut it down! It is part of voluntary lay-off/early retirement. I spoke with a few people inside of Subaru corp. They aparantly took the program and files with them when they left. I am trying to get contact info for the people in the know. We'll see what happens. Now, if you know how to get in to cached files go ahead and try. Edrach found quite a few that way. See if you can find more of them. Back to the articles please.
  3. Sorry, not directed at you personally. I just notice a lot of people are not reading the entire post then try to "solve" the problem lately.
  4. Everyone seems to be missing the fact that the opposite condition exists on the other side. Get it to an alignment shop and have them do an inspection. Or do as suggested above the visit Richie @ http://www.superiorimportrepair.com/ Keep guessing or just find out what the problem is...
  5. That was a wongleflute move that was better left at NASIOC. Don't pull that here!
  6. I thought they were the same as the N/A Imprezas. But, I have not owned or worked on a Forester. Thanks for the clarification.
  7. BINGO? go hang out with the old people... if that is the case then definitely contact them about it. If you ordered the 99-02 radiator you should still check to verify that it will fit your 98.
  8. Unfortunately, they offered you just what you got. By your own admission. The ad specifically states, in three different places, 99-02 Forester non-turbo. You should be able to get the remote fill from any 99 or later Forester. Check your local yards or contact the seller and see of they happen to carry the 98 version and maybe they would be willing to swap it.
  9. I have found over the years that port matching the adapter to the intake gives even better performance and fuel economy. Some have even mentioned increased mpg if you can stay off of the right pedal. The debate of whether or not there is a HP increase goes on and on. Simply because no one ever dyno's an EA81 It feels llike there is more power because of the improvements to throttle response and a longer powerband. Better air flow into the carb as well helps to achive a better tune. I agree with the recommendation of carbs unlimited. They have always done a great job getting the proper jetting and throttle adapters for the Subarus. There are many installation threads that can answer any questions or problems that may arise.
  10. Not too tough. I experienced my first rebuild due to a stacked pump. The convertor slipped causing misalignment. Broke the drive gear into 3 pieces. Before I was done the entire assembly was sitting on the ground. But, all it cost me was time. Fortunately, I knew a few people in the industry that threw a few used parts at me. Put it back together and it even worked
  11. Excuse me GOD, can you solve world hunger why you're at it? Get off the soap box Rick. Speaking of losing their grip...
  12. First, Rick is not the smartest person here or in the world when it comes to Subaru. He may just have the most time to post "His" opinions. Which are starting to annoy people again. Second, you need to learn how to weed out the bull5hit. Third, it's the internet. Do not take it seriously or personal. If you don't like the info look somewhere else for someone elses opinion that matches yours. It may not be right either though. With proper maintainence you can get many happy miles from an EA 82(T). You say you want to restore your wagons. Then restore them. Then you say you want to mod them. To get good advice here you will need to be more specific and stick to your plan. You can do one or the other. Both won't work to well. If you find that you do not know or understand what people are referencing then search it up. Maybe Rick can teach you how to search for the answers. He seems to be able to find all the information he does know rather easily. Then you too can sound llike an expert.
  13. I didn't see any left behind articles. We always do a walk around before we leave. Are you sure it didn't fall out when ya got stuck? Oops, I mean when you stopped to get trees.
  14. We have grinds at Delta Cam. Email or call. Info @ www.deltacam.com
  15. That I can agree with. But, RA will miss him and Travis. They both attract people.
  16. Haters are everywhere. The problem is that just because people drive a certain car does not make them bad. Hondas, Toyotas, Subarus, Jeeps... whatever. My best friend drives a Subaru, my Brother drives Chevrolet and Jeep, my son in law drives Subaru, Honda, Jeep and Chevrolet. I have had Ford, Chevrolet, Honda, Subaru, VW and Toyota. My point is, usually, the brand is what you drive, not what you are! Get over it!
  17. Congrats!! It is a nice feeling for sure to have your car in a mag. Been there a couple of times myself. How many copies did you get for yourself? I am making a montage for my wall.
  18. Post only articles please. Any and all conversations will be deleted to keep the information uncluttered.
  19. There is a specific torque of ~ 7 ft lbs or so. Key is to get them tight. I use a good sealer on the plate and a small amount of blue locktite on the screws to ensure they don't come loose.
  20. It will. You may have to change from hydraulic set up to cable. And the rear diff to keep the ratio's the same. As simple as moving the pin location for the clutch fork. It will use 4 bolts instead of 6 bolts. Otherwise, drop in swap.
  21. I would imagine it was frozen. Check for ABS codes. If none, then that is probably the problem.
