about the distance we might just relocate here in Manteca. if thats the case its definitely no more than ten miles. its a town of only about 59,000 people! and i might risk it and just drive it across town. uh.....maybe not. like i said at first i don't want to run out of oil and blow my engine there's those pesky traffic lights and if i get all of them red ( now thats definitely bad luck) i could just drain the oil while idling and accelerating.
-
you know what Shawn i'm not sure exactly if its the oil pump because some time ago i posted about this oil leak and some of the guys told me to replace all of the gaskets. actually i never thought of that one before i just try to poke my dad into helping me check it out. and about the recommended service, i don't have much time to take it appart and do it unless it takes less than a week cuz i'm actually packing up along with the family and the car is being packed up with all of our clothes.
-
well its a constant leak it just drips and drips and drips while idling and while its being driven it leaves an oil trail behind. and the move is no greater than 40 miles. the most is maybe 15-25 miles. hey Shawn thanks the u-haul is option 1 now i need to know which is best if i cant get a u-haul, wheel lift or flat bed. oh yeah and i forgot um... oh yeah, can i tow it with my dad's truck with all four wheels on the ground?
-
hey you guys i have a question. whats the best way to tow my suby either wheel lift truck or flat bed truck? its a 4WD and i'm gonna need to move it because the family is relocating in about 1-2 mos. reason for towing. leaks lots of oil and dont want to risk a break down while driving to the new house. any imput would be great. P.S. can i tow it with my dad's truck? and also does it fit on those u-haul auto transports?its an 1985 GL Wagon

why would you want to sell such a good car? if you fix it you could drive it for another 200,000 miles. dude, is your wife crazy or what? i would,t sell that car for nothing if i where you!
-
you you lucky lucky bum! sorry. anyway, my dad recovered an 82' toyota pickup. he thought it didn't work when he found the keys. he crancked it and shazam! its alive! got the papers strightened out and now he uses it for work every where. is yours a 4WD? cuz' my dad's is and man it really kicks and the engine is just plain quiet. it also has 193,000 on the ticker. now $600 for a truck like that? seriously thats a steal because i asked how much my dad's truck would sell and it sells between $1500 and $2500. oh yeah and is got a moonroof on it.

Help: EA81 blowing OIL out the exhaust!
Buddy replied to dustyrider's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
look i don't want to scare you or anything but when oil starts spewing out of the exhaust like that and u say that its coated w/ oil inside it usually means that the engine burns oil but not all the time. it could also be that u over filled it. anyway drain the oil like you said and see if it stops the oil bursts. if it has no change, then your engine burns oil and WILL I repeat WILL leave you stranded any where even while driving. (when i mean 'while driving' i mean that the engine could just stall @ freeway speed and that's it. its dead:dead:!) -

Where is it? Rear washer hardware?
Buddy replied to bustle's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
yo wussup man! all i can tell you is that if its an EA82 wagon you'll find all the hardware in the area were the jack is. in other words its on the left side of the the cargo area. all you gotta do is take out your jack without damaging all the hardware that's in there if you have any more questions on that go ahead and PM me and i'll give you more info. P.S. just to be sure is it an ea82 wagon? (1985 and newer) because i only know about that year and later. -
hey sorry to that . R.I.P little suby.we'll miss you alot.
-
well yeah that's what my dad said about free. we can get the car running that's no problem what the problem is is that it could be stolen or whatever be cause the guy never transfered it to his name. now if i would've gotten it with the title and proper papers i would be taking iyt appart right now and i would be using info from you guys but it didn't happen.
-
alright cool. that's the way to go man. now just pimp it out and drive it. (pimp it until you have $$$).
-
about the filling on the premium and the 50-60 mile drive. drive it to manteca and back. that's about 130 miles. (at least i think it is).
-
believe me you would not want to have your car registered here my friend. my state i very very strict on that!
-
hey thank russ i knew my fellow san jose resident would back me up! (miss san jose to be honest. i was born there and we moved to manteca about 9mos. ago:confused: :-\ ) sorry about the smilies i was just being sarcastic .

here's another thing. the guy was all nice at first. he just kept on insisting for us to take it. he told us that he'd push it if it did'nt start. (i live 1/2 a block away from him anyway) when we went to "pick it up" it still did'nt start. and you know my dad told me to just ditch it. anyway it was a 1992 Loyale and i have an 85 GL so there's not many parts i can use. ( honestly what pissed my dad and me off was that the guy lied and kept twisting his stories until he removed the "2005" sticker and revealed the true sticker. )
-
hey man all i'm telling you is be careful. what yo should do is run a carfax on it because i mentioned this last night on my thread about a Loyale that was kinda like that. first does it have the pink slip among the car's documents? if it doesn't then just leave it there and save your self from any possible trouble upon transferring it to your name. we almost did that and it was a good idea we just ditched the car.
-
yesterday i found out that my neighbour is giving away a "free" 1992 Loyale sedan. i stopped by with my dad and asked the guy and he said it was smogged and stuff. when we where ready to drive it home the car's engine rotated but wouldn't go. we took a look at it and the engine looked fine we even put some gas in it and you nothing nada. as my dad overlooked the engine i looked at the papers and saw no pink slip. the guy even cheated the registration by putting a 2005 sticker when it actually it has been expired since Mar 2003. the guy got mad because we didn't take it. i just wanted your opinion on this. i think it was a good idea to leave it because i think it's a lemon. here's a brief description of the car: 1992 Loyale sedan, auto tranny 4WD, has 116k on the ticker no rust.

thanks but what are the mods that are needed? cutting adding etc.
