  1. okay this thought has been flying around my brain for sometime. it's if i can lower the suspension on my 85' GL D/R 4WD wagon. i mean i'm putting a body kit later on but if i can lower it it be better.( better for street cruising .) i'm just curious to know. (i'm not going to lower it. just pulling a subaru styles with it)
  2. hey thanks man i'll check the fuel pump/filter. i'm converting to spfi in a year or two anyway. ( i'll just use your list you gave me on what to check).
  3. the timing belt is fine to this point i'm not sure if i need a new belt soon because all i know is that you have to replace it every 100,000 miles ( my suby has 211,000 original miles on it) it could not have been the timing belt becouse the engine rotated so that can't be it.
  4. well i'm not sure exactly what it was but i think it was faulty spark plugs or something in the ignition system what do you think it could be? nearest answer please.
  5. okay so the other day i take my suby for a spin around my street court and as i was pulling into my driveway clunk clunk it went then the engine died on me right in front of my house. the engine cranked but it wouldn't start.to this day i'm not sure what happend. it started after i pumped the accelerator pedal while cranking it(its a carbed 85' GL wagon). i believe its the plugs or something. any way its probaly my my fault because i hadn't moved it for about a month or so before that happend. bad me bad bad bad me !
  6. i would say that you take action before that small leak turns into a big one because it happend to me and its not cool.
  7. okay another question i have is that my suby leaks oil from the timing covers mostly on the left side and i can't drive it too far or the oil is drained. i thought of replacing all my gaskets but before that i asked my friend to take a look at it first and he told me that the leak wasn't there. He called it a "traveling leak" which means i have to take it appart and find it inside the covers. its driving me crazy though.
  8. Well i tried that and nothing happend i was so pissed that i almost grabbed a bat and hit it with it. but then i remembered that i have to be gentle with my suby
  9. First of all I would like to say hi to all my fellow subaru lovers out there . Ok now down to one question I have. I have an 85' GL wagon D/R 5 speed and when I first got it i noticed that my instrument panel lights don't illuminate. so i need help with this should i check the dimmer switch? Pull my dash appart to check the bulbs or what?! i have to drive with a little flashlight on my speedometer at night and it's not cool. by the way i also checked every single fuse and they're okay.
