  1. Just goto a parts store.. and tell them what car you have, and the part... you can get a universal kit for like.. 60 bucks?
  2. Did you say you wanted 9" under your diffs? because i just found out that that's what i have, with just forester struts in the impreza... a simple suspension lift could get you there
  3. Maybe i should add another washer... that'd explain the clunking... d'oh! Oh yeah... what's with the rear end there... breaking any axles?
  4. My girlfriend has a 96 leg. wagon like that.. ej22, 4eat, and the best we've seen out of it was 29mpg :-\ and nipster... did you get a new car?!?! i like the looks of the one in your av. there and yes... your gas milage is usually inversly proportional to your crazieness
  5. I do, and pretty well.... It fits right in the dask of the impreza too!

  7. Anyone have a preferance for CB channel for the ride in? I usually hang around on ch19.. just because it's funny
  8. I consolidated everything, and put it here: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=60150 to make it official and junk
  9. Just thought i'd consolidate all the info into one post, so people don't have to scroll through 13 pages to get the info. So here it is. We will be meeting at Paragon on Saturday, July 15th, at ~9-10am. Paragon (http://www.paragonap.com/) is located in Hazleton PA, directions can be found at: http://www.paragonap.com/p_directions.htm If you are planning on attending this meet there are a few things you should have (the park requires them): Seat belts and rollover protection for all occupants Four Wheel Drive, low range is not mandatory Hard mounted tow point front or rear Recovery strap (no metal hooks on the ends) Full size spare Battery tie down Orange safety flag At least three vehicles in a group They also require that one person in the group become a 'trail guide' type person... which is basically you watch a 15 minute video, telling you about the park, i believe it's free. A 1-Day pass is $35/vehicle, 5 bucks for passengers. Rates get better if you get a longer stay pass, more info: http://www.paragonap.com/p_rates.htm You need to fill out a waiver.. saying if you get dead, it's not their fault, you can do it there, or just download this guy and fill it out: http://www.paragonap.com/adobedocs/waiver_v03_06-2005.pdf If you're a minor.. suck it up, and read the website for instructions If you're Interested in the trails there, here's a trail map: http://www.paragonap.com/p_trailmaps.htm After wheelin' at Paraon, i believe 75subie is planning on hitting up a junkyard nearby, i'm game for that, as i hear there's some good stuff there to pick through.. ask him for more details on that Several of us will be camping out saturday night in the area... some at paragon.. some elsewhere? i believe 75subie knows of some campgrounds in the area, there's some 'lodging' ideas on the paragon site, but.. they don't allow adult beverages there:rolleyes:...i'm just going to figure it out when i get there http://www.paragonap.com/p_lodging.htm As for more on the camping... i can see if i can bring a grill, perhaps we could have a BBQ at where ever we (the people staying..) descide to condolidate. And finnally.. Good Times will be had by all The following people have expressed interest in attending, i'll PM yall' just to be annoying and let you know this thread exists If we can get 25 or more vehicles we can try to get a group rate... currently we have ~ 14-16 tentitivly. 75subie Andyjo backwoodsboy operose moosens 88HatchMonster strat robricc Hotshot subie94 Mr Fishums sayn3ver nickb21 nkx BruceyWV jeep5.9litre Hope to see you all there!
  10. scrap... your rig is going to give me nightmares!!! i love it!! that place looks awesome! glad you had a good time!
  11. could be your speedo' cable... mine vibrates around in there when it's cold
  12. Yeahh... my springs are being shipped from CA on monday, ups ground... so they'll get here eventually I'm working on a skidplate w/ one of my buddies from school who builds & wheels huge yota' & jeep rigs in competition! we're thinking full 1/8" underbody (under the engine), with tube re-enforcement for some racking points
  13. Alright... well.. after fighting w/ the system for a whole night.. the other day, i got ahold of a friends welder. SO, to make it fit properly, i took out the middle cat section, and chopped off the flange (w/ a little bit of pipe still on it), cleaned that pipe section up, bolted that part to the back end of the front cat, then i went in & bolted in the mid-cat section to the swivle/moving joint thing. THen i used our floor jack to bring that pipe up to the proper height (as to be alligned w/ the flange pipe part), then i just tacked it together from there. It was about 1/4"-3/16" away.. so i had to do alot of filling w/ the welder. (it varied... because i can't cut straight w/ a sawzall ) but anyhow, after i mig'd it together, i took our die grinder, and cleaned up the inside pipe section, then the outside... threw some high temp block paint on it, and then threw it back on the car, with some copper rtv + gaskets, etc... It doesn't sound as stupid as is did before! wierd..... but yeah.. it doesn't do any droning or anything... only when engine braking really... It seems to have a bit more pep when scooting around town, haven't gotten onto the highway yet. As for low-end torque.. i don't think it's lost any really... i was towing my trailer back front the barn, and noticed no difference... and yeah, send me some pics of that skid plate
  14. Jamie ships stuff SUPER fast... you'll see them alot faster than you'd expect I'm about to place my spring order actually... realized i have more $$ than i thought
  15. Well.. i'll let you know how it works tomorrow.. it's on.. a few small leaks in the front end (i didn't feel like sealing it properly... ) SOOO... the WRX exhaust is about... 3" shorter than the OBS exhaust, causing a little trouble with the hangers... the rear end hangs almost perfectly when it's not hooked into the EJ22 pipes, but you've got to bring the wrx pipes forward to hook them to the 2"ers, and that's what messes with the hangers etc... as for going from 2" -> 2.25" , all i did was drill some new holes in the wrx cat flange there, and bolt it straight to the back end of my front cat. and yes, i threw my 2nd o2 sensor into the wrx cat. It seems to run fine (backing it out of the garage...) it's pretty loud, but i'm going to blame the leaks in the flange connections for that... other than that, it's wicked bassy, almost sounds like a wrx or something
  16. Just got it, and checked, it looks like it'll just bolt up to the back end of my front cat! meaning no fabbin' up a new tube w/ sensors & stuff woohoo!!
  17. My girlfriend's 96 Legacy wagon has hit ~138mph before.. my impreza has seen ~120ish both EJ22s, 4eats.
  18. the OBS isn't a wagon, it's a Hatchback... try to pull that one off It's a great car (especially the 97 ), except those f-ing wheel bearings.. but all the imprezas of that age had the same problem. Look on craigslist, there's always impreza coupes & legacy sedans going there. If it means anything to you, i got my 97 OBS at a dealer, with 107k on her for ~7 grand. So you should have no problem with a later model new gen sedan good luck!
  19. I've got 3 sets of wheels, and 6 sets of tires... i need to GET RID OF some before i get some M/Ts Oh yeah... the jack thing is important too... because youre impreza jack WILL NOT get your tires off the ground anymore... even w/ 1.5" more on stock, my stock jack barely does the job... carry around some 2x4 pieces screwed together to get it up high enough And as said.. a 2nd car is awesome, because once i get that bmw running 100%.... look out for some HOTT impreza upgrades
  20. I thought the same way when i was 20 (wow.. that was last year ) but since then i've realized that i drive... ALOT... and modifying my roo' to the point of extreme trail worthyness vs being able to get to work w/o burning up 10 gallons of gas... the road worthyness won. Unless you have another car, i'd keep the mods relitivly low-impact on the car's overall road performance... because that's what you have it for but since i've got the bmw running now.. i may have to head down the dirt road again Don't get me wrong, go ahead and do what you want, but in the end... i realized that i'm cheap, and i like getting 28mpg But yeah, with one cut of a wire, and a switch, you can have 'realish' 4wd w/ your auto... that's a better 4wd than the manuals get (the newer ones), because you don't burn up a viscous c-diff.. whereas when the 4eat is in 4wd mode it actually stays cooler (in theory), because the clutch isnt switching on & off like it's on crack or something... Oh yeah.. who said anything about jacking the car up to take the axle out? you just have to romp up on something so she lifts her leg a little...
  21. any machine shop could make you a body lift.. but it'd cost you.
