  1. If it's a 5sp... then you don't have a clutch pack in there, you have a viscous coupling... that could be fried i guess.... generally people can't have torque bind w/ a manual tranny.. just the way it works...
  2. Is it just me... or does Tex talking ghetto sort of make you laugh? you can get a cheap angle grinder for... 40 bucks maybe?
  3. I was actually sort of wondering what relays everyone else uses... i've never used relays w/ my lights.. and would like to.. i usually just wire them straight to the battery, with a switch inline... for the light forces i'm going to use a relay.. as to not fry them. But yeah... don't buy a 'wiring kit' just get some wire, and relays, and do it all yourself, don't get ripped off I've been looking for good relays.. i think PIAA has some, or maybe hella... they're pricy, but i think they'll take the abuse. maybe this one? http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=330-070 hmmm
  4. I was just looking at the site.. i dunno if we can manage a group rate... " 1-Day Pass $35 per vehicle (includes driver) Group rates is available for groups of 25 or more. " i doubt we have more than 25 :-\ Passengers are 5 bucks, More: Basic SUV/4x4 Vehicle Requirements: Seat belts and rollover protection for all occupants Four Wheel Drive, low range is not mandatory Hard mounted tow point front or rear Recovery strap (no metal hooks on the ends) Full size spare Battery tie down Orange safety flag At least three vehicles in a group ... so i'm planning on rigging a flag on here at home, so i dont have to pay for one there Their site isn't very good.. but has some info... http://www.paragonap.com/ Trail Maps: http://www.paragonap.com/p_trailmaps.htm And of course, there's a waiver that we all have to fill out: http://www.paragonap.com/adobedocs/waiver_v03_06-2005.pdf
  5. Ok... back on topic. -When & Where are we meeting? (Paragon ~9-10am?) -Who's Camping out & where? -Who's Crashing in 75 subie's front yard? -Convoy Ideas? Where are you coming from.. & when... -Are we going to try & get a group rate? --If so, i bet we'll need ##'s there were more things... but i forgot them... we should be somewhat organized So, i'm planning on heading down friday night i think (it's a long drive..), and maybe staying in Hartford, CT that night, and finnishing the drive in the AM. Then i'll try to find a campground or something in the paragon area... that allows beverages Oh yeah! if yall' can score CB radios for the trip that'd be cool too, it's always fun being able to chat & well.. use the radio while wheelin' And if you want a sticker of somesort, let me know.. i can just do a large mixed batch
  6. So i just realized that it has to be one color... and we don't have pink at work or... I'm not really into flashy stuff...like huge windshield stickers :-p i could make some USMB.net stickers too or... whatever yall want
  7. Will they do it to a black 05' Legacy Sedan for me... .and then keep it until i can afford to buy it off them?
  8. So i'm looking to buy some Lightforces... 170 Strikers, Just been thinking about how to wire them... of course i'll use a relay, and make it all nice & stuff... just a question about wire gauging.... They're 100watt lamps, each, so 200watts, at 12v, so that's like.. 16 amps. So what would you use for that sort of power draw? 8 gauge? something around that size? I have access to some really nice wire, with the heavy duty rubber coating... i think it's about 8 gauge... the wires create a diameter of about 1/8"... Any electricians want to help me out here? Also, do you know where i could get a good relay for there?
  9. I like the STi Off-Road Package lol... good one! i may have to do that....
  10. So i cut out the stickers today... they're a little big, 44" span from the O to the U.... here's a preview: I may have to make mode if it doesn't fit right... I guess i could just make the space between the words smaller... we'll see
  11. What... angle grinder isn't the proper cutting tool?
  12. You also don't want to to much over 27" if you enjoy being able to go up hills the lack of torque sort of screws us over in that area :-\
  13. I'm sure they wouldn't mind us swapping off our tires there, and leaving them at the main desk or something hmm.. maybe i can get some swampers by then... .
  14. do they have to be matching tires? i don't have my snow's here.. .they're up at school... but i do have some touring tires.. heh
  15. I don't have any new offroading pics really.. just these... The 1st one here is a little misleading... that was my approch angle maxed out there.. got a little grass in the spot were there used to be tow-hooks hmm... i guess i should fix my oilpan by then... aye? I'm not sure.. i may or may not have the box on... depends how much crap i bring
  16. how much is alot for you? you could make it work.. yes.. but let's just say it's a good thing subaru's are FWD/4WD... because your rear tires are going to be spinning a whole lot being off the road!
  17. i hate you!!!! where'd you get them? and what size are they? my imp is in need of some non-cooper tires
  18. you flash nerd :-p it's funny.. you can see the passenger's arm tenseing up when they bounce now i'm going to have to go make it do a flip or something
  19. free if i don't get cought making non-work related things on the cutter what size smaller? i just drew it up in solidworks, so changing the size wouldn't be an issue at all is how it'll look.. unless you have a better font for me to use =) that'll be... windshield width.. ~3-3.5" tall? something like that I also made these the other day http://people.clarkson.edu/~johnsoad/rallysticks.jpg http://people.clarkson.edu/~johnsoad/cpucase.jpg If yall want, i could make a bunch of little ones for everyone going just get me a count.... and a dimension that yall'd like
  20. They make step down pieces?... wierd I'm going from a 2" header, to a 2.25" rest of the exhaust (cats etc..) and... i can do it for free at work, whereas it would cost $$ to buy a step down i have to make an adapter from the ej22 header to the downpipe intake of the wrx exhaust.
  21. check your steering yoke... could have a siezed pin bearing in there.... maybe? or it could just be out of allignment after the bearing got fixed.
  22. Check to see if you have any vaccum lines not connected, specifically the one that always gets bumped, under the airfilter thing.
  23. sounds good! Now i just need to get some 1/2" plate (left all my scrap at school ) and have the CNC Plasma Cutter guy have a go at it I'm not sure if they can do the angle like that... but i could just have the prototype guys try it out
  24. I"ve had my impreza hauled out by those 'tow points' they're not great.. but they get the job done... do you have a trailer hitch? Oh yeah, anyone else want an 'OFFROAD SUBARU' Vinyl windshield sticker? I'm going to make 4 at work (because it's not worth wasteing 40something inches of vinyl for one...). I can bring them w/ me when we do it up hardcore-like
