Rip em off!! just don't stay parked on anything dry... or flamable for long but yeah.. i've heard of people welding them to the exhaust pipe.... heh... -
just change your tranny fluid a few times... should make some things better... and yes... tranny cooler.... i need one too.. i've almost toasted my 4eat.... it wasn't a good thing...
-
oh yeah, quick note, IF you have hatch issues, put a little piece of sticky foam (one side sticky) on the back of the box... otherwise you'll end up with alot of scratches on your back window.. .which are hard to see through I don't think you'll have problems... because most people get things that fit their cars
-
When i said it was longer than my car, i ment the roof part. When it's forward, all the way, i still can't open my hatch... when i had the factory racks, it fit fine, but the front end hung WAY over the windshield, and it bounced alot (when the front was loaded). Now w/ 3 bars i don't really need to worry about it (Thule Evolution 1800) Good to hear you finally found something! too bad about the midding nuts. Another cool thing with the box.. if there's not really room to store it.. just leave it on the car, it'll mess w/ your gas milage, yeah.. but it's nice to just be able to throw crap in it, and go... not deal with taking it off & on again. You can also transport people you don't want inside you car in it too, makes them shut up real quick

If it's a 2.5L ask if the head gaskets have been changed... i believe there was still a problem with them in 01' (if i'm wrong.. someone correct me) if it's an automatic, just make sure the transmission fluid has been changed at least once you may want to do it if you buy it, just incase. If you get a chance to drive it, take it to a parking lot, and try to make a tight turn with it (a big circle) if it rolls smoothly, you should be good to go, if it binds down, you may want to let the owner that they arn't going to get as much $$ for the car

We'll see how things go, as it is i may have to make an emergency run to upstate NY damn last minute stuff i'll try my best.. but you know how things are :-\ -
how about arctan(height/distfromtire) ?
-
Did you attach the camera to your door? interesting idea.. What kind of camera did you use? i like the quality.. and it doesn't seem to get that pissed off with the vibrations & stuff.. good stuff. Interesting music too You're car's so quiet!!
-
It could make it up there... with enough speed.... and most likely alot of breaking stuff , and yes, i know it's really impressive, just messin' around a bit zap :-p i'm not saying i do beat the snot out of my imp, because i still need to use it for everything else And yes, seeing line is also a very important thing, something i'm working on. The problem around here is that there isn't anything really good to play on.. there's logging trails, yeah, and there's some atv trailer, and the occasional ski hill but eh.. nothing as cool as you guys have. I guess i phrased my thought wrong before.. how about not being scared to break stuff? who knows... you can build a rig, and still suck at what you do, money can't buy you skills offroad Now, let's see more pics!
-
That rock doesn't look THAT impressive... i bet i could get the impreza on that... but then again.. i may not have much of a suspension left when i was done the quality of a trail rig is directly proportional to how much you want to beat the snot out of it

oh yeah, i think i'll be taking 89 to concord, then 93 down to 85, then over to 114 (1.5hrs).... OR i could take 114 the WHOLE way and cut off 10 miles... (2.5 hrs) hmmm... subie94, want to just meet up in Manchvegas and figure it out from there? -
I just didn't have anything big enough laying around to do it the 'correct' way :-\

well then!! i'll bring... cash what i really need is to build my self a rack basket.. so people can ride up there! -
And the material to build stuff!
-
i thought you ment the strut was toast.... man.. that's nasty.. mmm... i'd get a new top too good luck! sorry about the mixup
-
you'll find that you won't really be able to solder those wires... i tried a torch.. and it couldn't get it to take the solder... the universal kit somes with a little black box, and yellow thingers that go inside.. it's a paint but it seemed to work for me. I'd get a real soldering iron if i were you... stuff advertized on tv scares me
-
WAIT!! why do you need new rear caps? you ahve everything you need! take the forester setups you ahve, and slap them in the front then just take the rear caps from the impreza and put them on the forester suspension should be good to go! edit: wierd... they weren't that expensive when i bought them.. but that was 3 years ago...
-
i think they're something like 20 a pop on tirerack.com that's where i got my impreza ones
-
Well i suppose my reply shoudl be public knowledge, from Austin i've recently learned that the Forester FRONT caps go into the impreza, the REAR caps should be your impreza caps.. and if you're luckly like i was you can use all impreza caps. So, superu, all you need to do is get a spring compressor (you can rent them at a store... and return them, get all your $$ back) and just swap off the cap you should be all set then! And othes who have lifted Imps: Austin, Noah.... anyone else?
-
Where'd you get the caps from? i'm sure they'd swap them no problem, the bearing on the inside of the imp & forester are identical. and the bolt pattern should be too, because the forester was built on the impreza platform... odd the rule of thumb was usually forester stuff for imprezas, and outback stuff for legacies.... mismatching causes headaches :-\ Also, i think Austin used all forester stuff with no problem? are you swaping into an impreza of a legacy?
