Also, with the baja you can use the all famous 'Throw it in reverce, get going pretty fast & slam the brakes' trick, to remove items from the back i've done it with my OBS... but it wasn't the most spectacular thing ever... main problem w/ the wagons is the lip for the hatch to close.. or the little latch thing... i've nearly bent it a few times If i ever had a chance i'd get one, with a turbo, and put my thule box on it too!! (there's one at school w/ a box on it.. it's HOTT) i heart the baja!!

i'm sure they could... but i may take you a year or so to get it i hear they're really busy making other products right now, there's a topic in the vendor sales you may want to look at.

Wow.. i just watched all of those videos, good stuff! for those who say they don't do a good job.. you should watch those movies!! yeah.. .the trucks have ALOT of power to give.. but yeah... good stuff

I don't think anyone has ever tried that combo.... ever.... I'd just play it safe and get an ENTIRE suspension from one car... How many miles are on the car? you may want to replace the caps.. depending on how beat up they are.

1) Usually people go w/ OEM subaru plugs... sometimes aftermarket stuff make make your life hell. 2) You mom's forester doesn't have a Transfer case 3) Your rear diff will take about .8 Quarts of 80w-90, the front is about 1.5 quarts i believe... i got 3 bottles of the stuff, and it was plenty. WHen doing up the rear diff, measure the level w/ your finger... so pretty much keep pumping in oil until it comes out the top hole.. let it drain (become level w/ the top hole) and then plug her up. 4) What kind of filter? Tranny filter? you wont' lose that much fluid if you change it, When you do change the tranny fluid, it won't be empty, it will stop draining, but there will still be about 30% of the original fluid left in there, i think 2 of the big jugs of ATF is plenty to do a fluid change (if i remember correctly... since i did it like 6 times at school ) 5) Go to your local auto store, pick up yourself a half shaft (axle) (~$60) this will come with the boots all sealed & clean. You may want to get yourself a punch for the DOJ pin, and a 32mm socket. On your way back from the store, stop by a shop that has a LARGE impact gun (~800 ftlbs) just let them know that you're going to be changing an axle, and you can't get the nut off (remove the center cap before going... making things quick.) If you're lucky they'll tell you to pull up to the shop door, they'll come out w/ the gun, and break the nut loose for you, then put it back on... but not to the rediculous amount as before. When you're changing the axle, loosen up the top 3 strut mount bolts, and remove the ball-joint nut that connects the hub to the controling arm. Once you rip off the DOJ pin, and the axle nut you should be able to pull the hub & strut back, and remove the axle... i'm sure you can figure out how to put it back together... i found it was easier to get the tranny end in first (make sure you line up those pin holes!) and then put in the hub side. 6) When you're all done with that, you can clean the grease off the cat with a pressure washer I'm sure other people will chime in w/ other useful info! Good luck!

i'd go 5speed d/r swap if i were you, while you're taking out the tranny awd is... eh.. it's alright for offroad use.. but the gearing SUCKS (by awd i'm talking 4eat) eh.. just a thought.
-
I dunno... i've seen some crazy stuff w/ tracks before... Derrick, the Parishville rescue squad has a 4wheeler.... with mattracks on it, and it's rediculous the stuff they do w/ it they also have a gear reduction in them i believe... so you even lower range

Old School at Wicked Big Meet
Andyjo replied to Seahag1978's topic in Meet n' Greet. Your USMB Welcome Center
Where was it? i only found out about it after the fact... and since it was called 'wicked big meet' it's gotta' be near NH somewhere -
you can lock up the center clutch pack though, and give yourself semi-real 4wd... opposed to those MT users who have a viscous 50/50 split yay for offroading!
-
imported an image into autocad i also measured it to double check, it's pretty close. the tricky part was getting the camera at the right level.... tripods are cool
-
yeah yeah, i don't have much to brag about, but what do you all have? i've got roughly 31 deg on the bumper, and 28 deg on the radiator support, and 38 deg where the wheel would hit... (if i were to go for a rock w/ one wheel) The dimensions look like they're in the wrong place... but they just go in order..... So let's have it! i know some of you guys w/ lifted hatches & bumpers have some sweet angles
-
may have hit it hard enough to make the tranny slip... and then that happens it gets reallll pissed off (when your torque converter isn't syncd' up w/ the rest of the car). try changing the fluid? I dunno.. .i've driven through a crapton of water in my OBS before... like 2-3 feet of it! but yeah, change all your fluids, maybe prop the hood open on a sunny day to help things dry out.....

I have half a tank of gas, and don't get paid till next wednesday ( a week from today) eek!! :-\ maybe i can borrow some or something hmm... -
I've got a thule box... although it's longer than the top of my car... and i can't open the hatch all the way the long ones are nice, because you can just stack crap on the top of the car (a box, 2 kayaks, a bike...) but 5 dogs!?!? they'd better be small dogs to fit in a subaru! unless one is driving!! :-p i've seen the semi-large thule/yakama boxes go on craigslist once in a while, not bad prices either. I just checked, there's a few Yakima space boosters on craigslist in NH, for like 50 bucks, not a bad deal.
