  1. who needs a rear diff.. You've got a winch!!!
  2. now THAT's a scary thing! Glad yah had a good time, don't you love that little switch?
  3. you need 5, because when you're miles out in the woods, AAA isn't gonna come repair your 5" long sidewall gash Oh, and it just looks badass to have one on the roof
  4. while you're playing with the diffs, Lockers... everywhere
  5. i can notice a difference when i go from my steelies (15") to my forester alloys (16").... but... it's not a good difference... grrr to my gearing but they look ohhh so nice
  6. Where did the rest of his rim go.... and tire.... nice movie! crazy stuff!!
  7. i didn't flush my system, but i've replaced the rack in my OBS, and it wasn't that bad, i'm not sure the method for flushing it.. but i should look that up.. Those little tubes are sort of fragile, so go easy on them.
  8. It 'fools' the ECU? odd... you can buy chips that work with the ECU to give you better power/milage. I think Rallitek sells em, along with many others.
  9. I'm 9 behind you! but i also post crap good job! we'll have to have a... 1000 posters toast at the meet, or be complete losers like that
  10. I think forester ranger cut & re-welded the spring perches to fit 29's... i suppose you could weld on some plates to the strut, and drill new holes? i know zap fit swampers on his impreza by throwing some washers on the studs
  11. Most Autostores (Napa, Advanced, etc..) usually carry some... i think nipper or grossgary are the guys to talk to about em though, they know whats up
  12. i suppose when i have a 'real' job, and have enough $$ to actually buy a car that nice... and afford to chop it up, i may give it a try.. but i'm going to have to say.. that'll be quite some time
  13. So i've been thinking, it can't be that hard to make a lift for a subaru... right? plenty of people have done it before... so why not have an open discussion about building your own lift! The problems yall' have encountered, things to do, thing not to do, what needs to be moved where... I'm sure something like this has been done.. but i'd like to document it all a bit better for my own super-secret projects So to start... what's the deal with those crossmember....
  14. Nice find nipper! Also, if you're ever in the fuel tank (you know ,just messing around), take out the fuel pump, and you'll know which part is the fuel bobber, on the end of the bobber (the fuel pump end) there is a contact that gets all this just built up on it (as nipper stated), if you use your fingernail, or something soft you can get all the junk off the contacts, and the sensor will.. seem to work better (at least form my experience) I did this in the parking lot of a junkyard in mid-state NY waiting to see if they had a fuel pump that would fit... they didn't :-\
  15. Now yall' have got me thinking... it doesn't seem like it would be THAT hard to make one.... just a little sawzall action here & there.. some paint maybe
  16. Was one ever built? And where did this picture come from? And...and... I want one
  17. Looks like fun! i wish there was stuff like that around here i like the impreza dipping it's nose in the water (is it an imp? sort of can't tell..)
  18. Think clicking my keyless entry button a bunch will fix my screwy fuel temp sensor? or maybe the large mess of a steering rack i have in there.. mmm... i'll try some more On the topic.. if the battery in your clicker dies, and you descided to disconnect the battery, and manage to lock all the doors, and leave the spare key that works in the car 2 miles away in your house... yeah... kick yourself in the face like i should have
  19. The computer will store the codes, even if the light isn't on (at least mine does :-\ ), i'd bring her over to an auto store, and get yourself a free CEL checkup
  20. And then post it here so everyone else who wants, can search it, and do it up hardcore
  21. How much more oomph do you want? you could drop an ej22 in the bad boy.. or.. depending on how 'usable' you want it to be, take out some heavy stuff.. seats & spare tires, etc.. Fuel filter is usually a good thing to change, when you're in there w/ the oil pump, make sure the 4 phillips screws in it are tightened up, they're known to loosen up & leak oil, like a good little subaru.
