  1. i'd do it to your cigarette lighter/outlet thing, it's only on when the ignition is (at least in my car), you ahve to pull out the center console, including the radio & stuff to get easy access to the plug wires. You can use those blue splice things to tap that power to bring it to whereever you mount the detector. Just a side note, i'd wire it on disconnector things, because some states it's not legal to have the detector in the car! (even if it's not on)
  2. So what i'm going to want to do it take everything the transmission is connected to, besides the motor., got it.
  3. So we've got this 98 Legacy Outback, and when you apply the brakes, they're fine, until you're going very slow, and at the end of your brake pushing, the abs kicks in.... ideas?
  4. I'm in potsdam ny right, now, i once i get all the junk i need out of this GL i could just drive down & we can figure things out Thanks!
  5. i'm going to throw it in place of a 4EAT, so i'm guessing the TCM isn't going to be happy? what should i do about this?
  6. Yeah i'm thinking of taking the lights on the front bumper, and putting them up there, and then gettins oem biggins' for the front and yeah, 7"ers on the brat would be awesome
  7. I found an ol' GL Wagon in the junkyard, and it happens to have a dual range tranny in it, i'd like to rip it out and throw it in my OBS, SOO the first thing i'll have to know is not to get the tranny out of there, i've never played with the transmission before, especially the EA ones.. any tips? we're planning on pulling the car up on it's side to get the tranny out. So that's the first adventure, the second would be putting it in my impreza... I have no idea how to do that
  8. So i went into our basement, stole one of my housemate's thule bars, get some walmart lights, broke apart my old ski rack mounts, and bam! i've got myself a light bar! it's only attached to the car.. because the box is pushing down on it, but i'll get to mounting it correctly later.. and wiring the lights. whoah! now i just need some more lights to throw on there, and.. some mounts so it doesn't fall off when i go around corners
  9. nope, just threw the struts in there, alligned the sucker and took off!
  10. "Subaru says while there are no plans to build a car that looks like the B5-TPH (which sits on a modified Legacy platform), some variation of TPH is likely for production, maybe in the Legacy or Forester, by 2007." eh i wouldn't mind an electric motor... damn gas prices are crazy back here in NY
  11. people usually measure from the rear diff, and the low point of the y-pipes.
  12. yeah, i'd like to know also, i've gotta replace some cv boots, and it's cold out!!
  13. Arn't they rockers on the newer subarus? well.. same thing i guess. I have that same ticking noise, gets worse as it gets cold... i've heard of people fixing it w/ seaform or something like that.. but i'm scared of taking apart my motor
  14. Next time you're driving around, and it starts to act blarg again, pop the door, and shove your head under the car, if you see anything glowing red, then you know what your problem is
  15. i think the 93 legacy used a single port exhaust... but i'm sure austin has the knowhow to look on the bottom of the engine and count the holes well.. i hope
  16. I agree, i want one... so many uses... i still have a damn air bubble in my brake lines somewhere
  17. it might be so you don't slip and dump the car back into gear.... ?
  18. i know it's possible... i read something about it a while ago when i was thinking of doing it, i'll have to check google or something to see if i can find the link again
  19. this is a bad idea, but you could try to amplify the signal.. or maybe wire your own antenna to it and slap it right next to the stock antenna.. OORR you could wire an aux input...
  20. isn't it controled by a relay? might just have to replace that.
  21. i'm confused.. that was alot of words for my brain to take in all at once i was under the understanding that it was the impreza type bearings that were crappy, and a simple replacement with legacy type would fit it right up. I've heard from the local shop that the rear end of subarus arn't exactly... good. I have to watch my tire pressure very carefully to avoid bearing issues, because it seems like my bearings go faster than tanks of gas
  22. is it just me... or is there something missing from that joint... hmm... good job heading out to the rescue
  23. WOW that thing is HUGE! Awesome, dude, very nice work.
  24. If you could figure out how to get an ARB air locker in there.. and you have an air suspension, you could try to tap into that system.. .just an idea...
