I think you might be able to. without a lift i fit some 215/60R16's on my impreza.. soo.. maybe.. i also have a set of tires the same size as yours, but they deff. won't fit w/o a lift... my forester struts are in the mail though.. so i'll let you know if i can fit them on there with those...

The B9 Convertable? :-p -
Ok, before anyone says anything, i know i have way to much time on my hands... Here's what i came up with for my light spectrum... Not really accurate or anything, but you get the point.. and my fog lights are nowhere near being as perfect as that.. one points almost straight down..
-
you did it better than i... i took a drill right through the bumper cover & bumper.. some very large fender washers, and a few longer bolts later and i had myself some mounted lights My next lighting addition, i believe will be some LightForce 170's on the roof, but i haven't figured out how to mount the yet... i either need a fold/roll down light bar, or an easy way to just pop the lights off, due to large amounts of stuff being carried on the racks, at times.

I want a set of lightforces... they're huge, and amazingly bright. And they use a Subaru in their advertizement. roar!

looks sort of like the front of my car except mine are KC's that don't overpower my highbeams

Shouldn't it just be a simple ratio of the original tire size to the new? (original being the size the spedo' is set to) if v = w*r (v= velocity, w = angular velocity, r = radius), and we give em subscripts (1 = original, 2 = big tires) thennn... v1/r1 = w = v2/r2 soo... v2 = (r2/r1)*v1 yeah, that's right, i'm a physics major, and proud of it! so i guess if you wanted the 'percentage' you could just take the ratio of the tire diameters... seems right to me

Legacy Question
Andyjo replied to aja573's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVX
See the offroading section of these boards lifting options for your legacy include outback struts/springs, or a body lift... must people go with a new suspension, because it's cheaper... and betterer... good luck! -
I have/had a set of borla headers for my impreza, but they cracked! 3 times! I sent them in, got new ones, cracked again, sent em in, got new ones, put them on, cracked again.. and then again.. i think there must be a design flaw or something.. or just horrible welding on the cat flange there. When i get back to school i'm going to try to send them in again, and re-enforce the welds first I thought this was really wierd, because i've only heard good things about borla, one of my friends has an entire exhaust by borla, on his land rover, and we've dragged the whole vehicle on it.. and it still looks like new!

Subaru mounted snowplow.... i have the same problem with my impreza, not quite as bad... but it gets in there pretty tight. i'm guessing a good skid plate could fix the problem..
-
They should have a 'how to drive with an Open Diff.' one... very educational!
-
I thought it was Old Subies never die, they just get taller either way, boo to emission!
-
it seems to me that problems would occur if you did either... Like said above, disconnecting the driveshaft might be your best bet, especially at high speed and long distance, you could destroy your tranny also you should watch for tire wear if you're going to do this, because of the whole 1/4" circumference thing... don't want to get in that range.

I've gotten a chance to play w/ the rail Clamp things you're talking about, they seem very sturdy. For a bike and ski racks they should do just fine. One of my friends also has the rail clamp-on types on his blazer, the rails seem to be the weakest link on his setup. If you're going to be throwing some heavier stuff up there, kayaks, boxes, canoes, (like previously said) you might want to think about getting the feet/tower setup. As for my setup, i don't have a rack for my car.. it came off our old dodge caravan , and i threw some 78" load bars on it. I tend to throw on alot of weight up there, and the feet hold up great. Thule says the max. capacity of their products if 165lbs (on the entire system).... this my friends.. must be wrong... because i've had 3 bikes, 2- 15' touring kayaks, and my 33" wide box (filled) up there... there was some bowing of the bars.. and some denting of my roof area, but it held up. I wouldn't trust factory rails for this type of abuse.

Most people lift the back first, and then the front... if they're only going to lift one half... it might be wierd driving the car if you do just the front. If i were you i'd wait till you have all the parts, and then do it all at once. As for the 4" thing, it should work, but you might want to watch out for your wheelwells/fenders, they might start rubbing before anything else. Good Luck!

I just happened to run across the auction, and couldn't resist. The set was like $298 including shipping. I got my impreza struts for.. way to much off of tire rack.. soo.. awesome deal to me I'll keep my eyes open for some OB struts, and let you know if i see any.

Hey subie94, I ordered my Forester struts off of eBay the other day, maybe we can have a lifting part or something All we need is a spring compressor.. i've got a compressor, jacks, jackstands, and air tools

I dug out my ol' mtn. bike today, it's an old trek, with those duel tires.. high pressure they're road, low they're off-road. it should work fine, i'm sure i can grab the girlfriend and make her trash her bike with us
