Hydraulic arm

i think you're going to have to pull some trim.. if i remember correctly. might want to just pop off the top, and see if you can turn the bottom section.. there might just be a weldnut on the back there. -
i guess the trump card is if you can't drive the vehicle from the site... due to structural damage, or getting super-stuck.

Northern New England/NY,etc. Meet???

http://www.burkevermont.com/ it's got your normal commerce stuff.. i don't have a mt. bike, but i've got a road bike.. and i'll hike up anything you point at... maybe do some rock climbing in the area? -
board feud! ok.. let's look at it this way... the amount of fun had is obviously directionally proportional to the amount of blood lost.. if there is no blood lost, then it must be the amount of mud covering the driver/vehicle

i do work on the car, just not the intake i poped it out the other day, and it was pretty gnarly, so i took the air compressor to it.. got some big chunks out, i'll look into getting a new one soon. i like the hood scoop idea, i've been thinking of doing that for some time actually, just never had the chance or ambition to do it. a problem i forsee with the hood scoop idea, is rain and snow... 1) rain will get in there.. and cause problems. 2) snow & ice like to block it in the winter, thus getting little to no air to the motor! i'll look into some things about using the scoop, maybe a water dam in there or something along those lines.

I'm in, just gimme a date and time, and place. September sounds good, much better than August. And don't forget those people over in Maine! (are there any on the forums?... do they get the internet? ) My OBS should be lifted by then, so i'm game for some thrashing through the woods with it. -
So i have the stock air filter in my car.. it has 158k now... i'm wondering if i should change it, my gas milage has been sort of crappy lately..... maybe upgrade to a k&n or go without an air filter! :-p... i'm sure there's been posts about it.. but my browser isn't liking the pop-down search function thing

OK, who's bright idea was this ?
Andyjo replied to 78TurboBrat's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
looks like something we'd come up with at at Clarkson... stick a bunch of engineers together.. with alot of beverages... the -20 degree weather helps too -
Make it rotate down, so you can put stuff on your roof rack when not using the lights i was going to do this, but i didn't get ambitious enough, maybe when i get back up to school, and can use all the scrap metal from the shop

you obviously haven't tried to attack your rotors.. when trying to get the 'shoe' part off.. and your bolts are so rust welded on there that you shear them, and have to drill & tap them out.. grr! but yeah.. i love working on my subi, it's so easy! -
If you're going to replace your struts, you might as well do all of them, i went with KYB when i did it, couldn't be happier (well.. i could if i had bought forester struts..). If you're a little mechanically inclinded and have some time on your hands, and can borrow a spring compressor, doing the struts your self isn't that bad. As for the center diff... maybe get a second check, by someone else, cause a grand is a nice chunk of change, and i've never heard of that part siezing up.. seems to me like it'd be a good thing if you want to run around off-road

Welcome to the board! You should def. get a subaru, they're worth every penny. as for your questions.. the EJ22 will run up to 300k if you treat it nicely. It's uber (yes, uber) reliable, and only tends to leak oil from the pump I dunno what the 2.2L is though as for the tires, as long as they're all the same size, and are all wearing at the same rate you should be fine. Lots of people on the board run oversized tires for off-roading etc.. I believe it was the 2.5L that had the head gasket problem.. hope this helps!

directional light wires in the rear end are yellow... sorry had to be an rump roast

I was just reading some stuff, and found out that some Audi's in the 80's had manual center diff and rear diff lockers... i'm wondering how hard it would be to convert one of these setups for a subaru.. hmmm....

Momentum's gotten me in more trouble than it was worth 2 hours of digging in the snow.... that was a bit more.. heh stupid getting high centered...

man, why can't my roo look like that? awesome dude, i wish there were trails around here like that.. my little subi hasn't seen off-road in a long time :-\

i think this topic came up before, the air bags don't go off unless you smack the sensors, which are burried int he car.. you need to smash in your bumper a good 2-3 inches i think...
