  1. Fram Oil Filter (they have that nice grip on them) and a case of NAPA 10w-30 does the trick for my subaru. And i tend to only change it every 5000 miles :-\
  2. won't you start to destroy bearings and CV's ?
  3. Subwoofers go: "BOOM BOOM BOOM" and you can hear them in your liver. Tweeters go: "tweet tweet tweet", much like a bird, high pitch and stuff. Midrange, well you guessed it, in between those
  4. So in my quest to lift my baby a little more, i've come up with some options: -Throwing in some Forester/Outback Struts (~2") -Poping in some Scorpion Lift Springs (~2") Now, either one of these alone wouldn't really destroy the wheel bearings / CV's... but if both were added (the forester lift springs).... would bad things start to happen? heh.. and just for kicks, throw in the 2" body lift on top of that... that'd be one mean, top heavy OBS.... Thoughts?
  5. just curious, how'd you do it? hit it w/ something... over torque it?
  6. Good deal Zap. I'm betting you cut through canada via ogdensburg? then booked it across those upper states over to the west there? i figured it would cost about 200 bucks in gas to get there too! I'll start saving for next year!
  7. I can't make it this year... only a small problem.. it happens to be 2410 miles As the Crow Flies for me =\ randmcnally says it's 3117 miles... only 50 hours 35 minutes! maybe next year
  8. Hey Honey!!! The new Outbacks are Sexy The foresters are too... boxy and stuff, and not enough power! but you lose some gas milage... I think your mom would be wicked cool driving around a WRX wagon
  9. could help with those pesky rocks that are firmly attached to the ground
  10. My OBS isn't lifted alot.. but it still loves to drive
  11. less drag... as in aeronautical drag? your vehicle's coeficcient of drag is going to go from a 0.36 to a 0.3599999..... or are you talking about dragging on rocks and such?
  12. i think i remember it being the brake light gaskets, water leaks down in there, and continues into the spare tire wheel well. I'm pretty sure it's not the rear hatch gasket, because mine is gnarly, holes, ripped up, and i have no problems like that. but yeah, at least it's not your head gasket
  13. I wouldn't put the fuse in there, as stated alot on these forums, i've asked the question too. It turns out that if you drive for a while with that fuse in it'll burn out your solenoid. i believe that's what was said.
  14. Hey, i've been having the same problem in the rear. a 'clunk'. I'll have to check out the swaybar and see if that's the problem. Thanks for having the same problem
  15. something really out there... one of your springs could have slipped, and twisted a very little bit, causing some odd torques.
  16. i agree.... for what reason. more clearance? or just for bragging rights?
  17. I had the same problem (oil leak) in my 97 OBS. they mechanic said the same thing, so i went to work, and ripped out the oil pump, we had a new one, but it turned out that the problem was that the screws in it were loose! we i tightened them up, slapped that puppy back together and it was fine. it did take a while to get all of that out and back together though.
  18. I got my CB at radio shack.. works pretty well. As for the magnetic mounts, make sure the area you put it is clean, as well as the bottom of the magnet, or else it'll scratch up a storm. I like the tape & towel ideas.. i'll have to pass those on to my friends. I persanally just hammered my mount into the frame by my roof rack, and then bolted another piece of metal to that, like a clamp.
  19. Lift it and use it as an Off-Road beast If the damage isn't that bad to the fenders etc, unbolt em, get a hammer, and see if you can pound the dents out... did that with one of my fenders, then i re-painted it, there's still some dings.. but it's better than haveing a 'concave-in' fender I'd also suggest finding a junk/salvage yard and seeing if you can find some new body panels there, re-painting them isn't that bad. OR... the least fun option (in my eyes) is get a whole lot of bondo... and do it up that way... uhg, that would suck.
  20. 80s wagon is the way to go i guess, or a hatch
  21. No i'm pretty sure it's a dead fuse, i just can't find where the hell it is! I dunno what to do w/ the relay.. so i just put it back. The relay works, because when i try to switch on the whiper i can hear it click.
  22. So at first, i thought i was just burning out motors, so i'd just goto the junk yard an pick one up for like 10 bucks, and re-install it (the rear windshield whiper motor) and think nothing of it. But i was bored today, and realized that i haven't had a working windshield whiper back there in a year or so. So i poped off some panels to try to figure out what was going on. i tested the motor, hard wired to the battery and it worked great! so i've got a wiring problem OR i blew the fuse.. i'm guessing the fuse, but here's the problem, I CAN"T FIND IT! my haynes says it should be in the fuse/relay box, i check there, no dice, i checked under the dash in that little cluster, not dice. WHERE IS IT!?! i managed to find the relay way in the back.. .but i couldn't think of anything to do w/ it. Anyone know where they hide those tricky ones?
