  1. They may be asking 2-3000 but asking is not the same as getting.
  2. Replaced the alternator in UNO. No charge though because it was a lifetime unit from Autozone.
  3. I ended up riveting it on. No problem so far.
  4. They have a wet bar and jacuzzi too. I was at a wicked party there last weekend.
  5. I made a grocery run to Central Market for some good grub. On the way back while driving south on Highway 3 this morning gliding along in my Loyale with some nice tunes and suddenly I hear a clunk and I lose power. Luckily I was near an off ramp and could get off the highway. All the lights on the dash lit up and I slowly rolled to a halt on the side of the ramp. I got out checked the engine, nothing blown up. Cranked it a few times and it wouldn't start again. I thought maybe it was the fuel pump, so I got out and picked up a rock to whack it, but as I was laying down to reach under the back of the car, I figured I should see if the pump was charging with the distinctive growl. Got in and turned the key and it growled so the fuel pump didn't need smacking. After two minutes, I thought to check under the distributor cap and sure enough the little screw is sitting there. I am relieved I know what is wrong (especially considering I forgot my phone at home) but really annoyed that this screw fell out again. Luckily I have a phillips screw driver and got going again. I am home now and found some blue locktite but I am not even sure that will be a permanent fix. I am thinking of riveting the thing on so I never have to worry about it again or perhaps locktite and rivet. Other than requiring drilling if I ever need to change the rotor, does anyone see any big problems with this? This screw is the one thing I hate about the Loyales.
  6. I second the remark on cleaning and lubricating for optimal window performance.
  7. For coolant leak try this. Open hood and turn on engine. Pull the throttle cable to Rev engine to 3000 revs while watching for leaks on coolant hoses. Frequently self sealing pin leaks do not leak at idle. Revving increases pressure to expose leaks. Gurgling is air in cooling system. Once you replace leaking hose, refill and burp system.
  8. I am glad I put a new one in my Loyale last time I did the seals. I didn't realize at the time they were getting scarce or I'd have stocked up.
  9. Just consider the splashed oil extra rust protection.
  10. The engine is directly coupled to the transmission in a manual. When you let off the gas, instead of the engine moving the car, the car is moving the engine. Any play in the engine mounts, transmission mounts or clutch will give a jolt.
  11. No it stream out like a fountain when I Rev the engine. Let me try to get a bid or pic tonight.
  12. I have coolant leaking like a fountain from around the pcv threads on my Loyale. It only shoots out when the engne is revved to above 3000 rpms or so. Under idle it is dry. Just a pcv replacement or something more ominous? I have never seen this happen before.
  13. Sorry, I too have been distracted with witk. I have two ecu's I can get numbers from. Let's keep thus thread so it is all together. I did find some info online about building ssm interface hardware. I ordered the connector but haven't had time to do much more.
  14. Was there a check valve you forgot about?
  15. While you have it out, examine the back of the connectors where the wires attach. Gently tug on each wire to ensure they are secure the the connector and not intermittent.
  16. I believe so. I ordered mine from Powerwerx (see my earlier post for link) it was about $2.99 and of course $5 shipping lol.
  17. Connector came Friday and I got it put in today. Seems to be working fine. Thanks all.
  18. That is what is so frustrating. I know it is a common connector, but I asked at several auto parts stores and the first thing they would do is type on their computer and of course it doesn't come up as a Subaru blower motor connector. I get so tired dealing with auto parts desk people.
  19. That'll definitey do it. Glad you got it working. I always label things when I disconnect them with numbered tape on each end so I avoid mixing them up.
