I'd Like to see a picture of your 3rd row seat in Subaruban if you have one

I just pulled a motor for my 90 loyale, this donor motor had been in a wreck. The inner fender was pushed into the "valve cover" cracking it. The wreck had also bent the right side cam gear. So, i pulled the cover and cam tower. All fo that for my question, do the flat spots on these rockers occur naturally or are they an evidence of tod being in the motor. I have searched and found nothing on the rockers. Should I look for rockers that are not flat spotted or run these? thanks ross

the "subaruban" (90 loyale with custom third row seat like a suburban) just died with 343,xxx. I'm going to miss driving that car; in Alaska, it handled the hiways like a train on tracks. Ross -
?got no spark form coil?
2alaskasubee replied to 2alaskasubee's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
well, I AM STUPID!!!! I hooked the dist. leads up wrong. When they are hooked up correctly, I have spark. Now, I just have to dial in the timing. Thanks for your help!!!! Now let's play in the snow:banana: Ross -
Please help, someone somewhere must have had this problem. I have an 85 brat (ea-81, dr4wd, hitachi carb and dist. without a/c). I had the swinging tach problem, so I pulled a dist out of a parts car and threw it in the brat (same motor, same dist). Now, I have no spark=====>WHAT DID I MISS. I do have power to th coil, and correct resistance. I have verified all fuses and fusible links. Any help will be appreciated. thanks, Ross

I'm up for a run in the woods. I have been wanting to meet you guys anyway. Name the time and place; the SUBARUBAN is ready. Ross:banana: -
hey, it's probably just a disconnected window switch (you prolly pulled it out when you had the door panel apart). I work in a glass shop, and this is one of the most common things that fail regulators. both of the switches have to be connected for the regulator to work ( drivers door and rear door). should be an easy fix. but saying that.................. good luck, ross

As a glass tech, any shop that does auto glass should be able to stop drill the crack. This will not make it go away, but should stop it from running. It will look like a small chip (the glass cutter method will leave a fair sized semi circle). Remember to clean all but about 1 mm of urethane off of the pinch weld, trying to keep it as flat as possible. Make sure you prime the pinch weld very well, dont prime over your urethane bed, but every where you might have scratched the paint (rust grows unseen here very fast) I cannot stress how important it is to install the glass properly. It is a safety feature (even in cars w/o airbags). Also, urethane sticks to every thing it touches before it is cured (wear cheap latex gloves to keep it off of your hands, wear old clothes, and let it dry for a day and clean up the splooge and glass with a razor blade). good luck ross:D

As I was pulling into the driveway tonight, I downshifted and the car died. I tried and tried to restart it, but it won't. I popped the hood and checked timing; still right on. I'll be checking spark and fuel delivery tomorrow. The weird thing is that the parking brake, brake fluid, and stop light warning lights are on. If anyone has any suggestions, I will happily entertain them. As an extra, the car has 318,xxx, and removed timing covers. Thanks in advanced for your replys.

1. what's it hurt to leave out the DOJ roll pin? ========>I just put a left front axle in the 90 loyale, and as i was carefully massaging the pin into place, i was thinking ====> why is this pin here, its a pain. dont think the axel will fall off (but am i wrong) 2. how to loosen the crank bolt ========>i couldnt budge it, so i called the local pro shop. he geve me some advice "put your breaker bar on it, add a torque multiplier, and crank over the motor with the starter" surprise it worked 3. i love this car, i've used it twice to extract my 95 dakota from the snow when i was "off the beaten path"

Poll: Head gasket blow'age, which side?
2alaskasubee replied to WJM's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I've lost the 1-3 side also. The rupture was on the lower left corner ( if you are standing by the pass wheel facing motor). I have also had the head cracked enough on #3 in exhaust valve area to get really good coolant flow into exaust. Bond woulda been proud of the smokescreen. -
i was given a 90 loyal, and bought (cheeeeeP)a 87 rx. body of 87 is toast, but has xcelent motor,tranny,hi-lo diff and posi rear. 90 is spfi w/cracked head, body is great!! what do i have to do electronicly, will i have to change the gas tank along w/the pump, many other questions coming as the snow melts. ross
