  1. I have a 2000 Forester L. My current battery is a Diehard Silver and it's coming up on 5 years old. With Fall just around the corner I'm thinking of getting a replacement. I'm not having any problems but I want to be prepared for winter. I live in Philadelphia, PA. I think my mechanic carries Interstate. Auto Zone, WalMart, Advance Auto and Sears are nearby. Can I have some suggestions on a replacement? ~Howard
  2. Priority mail is faster. Not a big deal in cost either. ~Howard
  3. GLEN: PM me with the details. I can UPS the board to you. Return shipping would of course be on me. ~Howard
  4. I think the resistor might have gone south. The one labeled 501. Does anyone have the value for this one ? ~Howard :-\ :-\
  5. About a week or so ago I smelled something burning. I thought it was another car but it turned out to be my overhead clock. It started operating very strangely and now it does not work at all. I've followed the threads here and there is a member who will repair these clocks at no charge. I've PM'd him and have not received an answer. Does anyone know how to get in touch with him? Is there someone else out there that can repair these clocks? I'd be willing to pay a reasonable amount for repair and return shipping. Dealer price for a new clock module is a whopping $53!! Thanks in advance for your help. ~Howard AKA Clockless in Philadelphia
  6. NorthWet: I sent you a PM about getting my clock module for a 2000 Forester repaired. Are you still offering this service ? ~Howard
  7. The rear wiper on the 2000 Forester is listed as a 15 1/2". As I've been advised here, I am going to purchase a "cheapo" blade for the rear. Question: Do I get a 15" or a 16" as a replacement? I'm replacing the entire wiper; not just a blade replacement. Thanks in advance for your for your help. ~Howard :-\ :-\
  8. You're 100% correct. It is a ticking noise and it is worse on the 1 & 2 positions. I guess it's something I have to learn to live with. I'm just going to play the radio louder! Thanks again for your help! ~Howard
  9. Is there anyway to blow some canned air in there WITHOUT taking the whole thing apart ? ~Howard
  10. I have a whirring noise coming from the fan that's driving me nuts! For some strange reason it seems louder on the #1 setting. Can someone please tell how I open up the fan and possibly blow out the dirt and dust that might be in there. I'd also like to lubricate it a bit too. Thanks in advance for your help. ~Howard
  11. The head unit was replaced a while back with a Pioneer unit. I'm going to give them a shot and see. ~Howard
  12. Nahhh..........not like that at all. You just don't show the credit card bill ! ~Howard
  13. I upgraded the front and rear speakers in my 2000 Forester. I have Panasonic 6" speakers in the front and 5" Sony speakers with the use of an adapter in the rear. I also installed the Subaru tweeters in the front door. I am looking to upgrade the Subaru tweeters to Infinity tweeters (model is Reference 1011t). Questions: Does anyone know if the Infinity tweeters would fit the Forester? Sound wise would I benefit from this upgrade? Thanks in advance for your help. ~Howard
  14. KEITH: Thanks for the information and advice. I thought that the LED would be BRIGHTER than the incandescant bulb but I guess I'm wrong. Looks like I'll stick with a standard bulb. ~Howard
  15. I need to replace the dome bulb on my 2000 Forester. It's a DE3175. (The same bulb is used in the map light.) Can someone suggest a place to purchase an LED bulb instead of the standard bulb. Remember the space is limited in the dome light. Thanks in advance for your help. ~Howard
  16. What's really funny is the FIRST post (mine) was way back in JULY 2005! GOD........we have to get lives besides Subies. ~Howard
  17. WOW...........I didn't think it was that expensive. ~Howard
  18. What would be the price on a Brush Guard for a 2000 Forester L ? ~Howard
