3" it is.OH BOY OH BOY OH BOY!!!!! I'M GONNA HAVE A LIFTED WAG!!!!! lol :burnout:
-
where can I get one? all I can find is 3", but looking at a 2" lifted car as opossed to a 3", I like the way the 2" looks... and I think the 3" might cause a little more drag on the highway. would that inch make any difference or am i worrying too much? should i just get a 3"? thanks in advance. -Jordan
-
do they make 2" lifts? the smallest i see is a 3". should i just go with 3"? and why didn't I post this in offroad?? lol
-
anybody heard of them? i just googled subaru lift kit looking for byb and found this... http://www.funonwheels.net/hirisesubaru/pages/pricelist.htm who has a lift kit from them? is it pretty good?? i just want a 2" , i don't really want a 3". i did notice that solid aluminum blocks would be at an extra cost... so i'm assuming their lift kits use square tubing? would that be alright for moderate stuff?? thanks in advance. -Jordan

nevermind... they came with the races. I thought it was a big cup or something but it just slips on the outside of the bearing. silly me. -

I bought an inner and outer bearing, but i got no race. do you think I could get one at a junkyard if it looks good off a low mileage car or should I go ahead and get a new one? thanks for the replies guys. -

My car has an unfriendly tenant
Subaru_dude replied to bgd73's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
that's pretty cool. when i was younger, maybe 12 or so, we had a spider like that on our front porch every night. made a web from the ground to the hanging plants on the edge of the roof. my mom didn't know about it... and when i was coming from my friends house late at night and the front porch light was on, you could see it and there were hundreds of insects on the wall of our house. I'd pick out the biggest one and throw it in the web. that spider got pretty darn big, until my mom found it during the day hiding in one of the hanging plants when she watered it. she killed it of course. -

went wheeling on a mantainance trail in Knoxville yesterday... MAN IT WAS AWESOME!!!! MUDHOLES UP TO MY BUMPER!!!! and the funny thing is, didn't even come close to getting stuck once even though i have street tires. I can't imagine what I could do with a welded rear end, a lift, and some mud tires. dear mother... I don't think there's even any terrain around here extreme enough for such a vehicle... lol. it's behind a kole's store... one day I saw some jeeps coming around the building covered in mud, so me and my mom (in her camry) pulled around the back and saw the road, so I walked a ways down it while she shopped... too bad some of it was closed off with logs laying across the road, those areas had some STEEP hill climbs... ended at some abandoned train station I think. boy... I gotta get me a lifted wagon -

Subaru_dude replied to LPGsuperchargedBrumby's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
mine started making the same noise today when i was wheeling through some deep puddles... but it made it through 1st and 2nd. drove another quarter mile of dirt road and it went away. and it started pulling to the right too... sorda more like "tugged" but it also went away once I got off the trail... balljoints?? -

Subaru_dude replied to Caboobaroo's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...

it seems like i couldn't find the mounts ANYWHERE back there... but I will look tomorrow and if not, I know where i can get the stuff. while I'm at it I think i'll get hooked on some lsd, lol. MAN THIS THING'S GONNA BE SUCH A SWEET RIDE!!!! when i'm done with all this i'm going on a road trip to NYC.
-
do you know if anybody's ever fashioned their own mounts? cuz i have a swaybar and i'd really like to use it, but I don't wanna have to go find another rear end..... although I know where one is. just too much trouble to go pull it and pull everything out from under my car.
-
alrighty, thanks alot. that clears everything up.
-
isn't a rear swaybar just supposed to bolt on?? there's no holes for a swaybar... and the rear end came off a car that had rear discs... and i thought all cars with rear discs (GL-10) had swaybars also... am I wrong?? oh yeah, it's a 1987 GL 5 spd d/r.... would it being a d/r have anything to do with it?? thanks guys.

had a tug of war with an '89 Crown victoria with flowmasters and a k&n air filter, pretty powerful car. I dragged it around the parking lot at about 8 mph while he was smoking the living crap outta his tires. all the little ricers were pretty impressed, their lowered civics and accords couldn't do crap in a tug of war with ANYTHING. expecially a big, heavy, powerful rear wheel drive domestic luxury car. "Dude, what kinda car is that?" exclaimed a totally idiotic boy standing next to a green eclipse with green neons. "It's a Subaru!!!" said me. everybody laughs. what the hell??? -

I know of an ea82 wagon in kingsport that hit 560,000 miles before the original motor was replaced with a 2.2. i was told it was not rebuilt, and I believe that taking into account the source. -
what band is that in the video?

Who can Identify this noise?
Subaru_dude replied to bgd73's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
my car made the same sound when my inner belt was loose and scraping against the bottom of the power steering fluid resevoir. check to see if it's loose and if not, these other guys can help you, lol. but i doubt it is being that it's done it so long... it seems like after a while it'd eat away at the inner belt and destroy it. -
