Ok got it with the brake rez! And with regards to the fans, I don't really understand your lingo and terms, so correct me if I am wrong, but if I leave the fan wires and connectors in the EJ loom, plug em in, and don't change anything else, the fans will run when I start the car. Are there any other connectors that I missed when labeling and figuring out what I need? Also what would you suggest with the fuel pump? Thanks! Sorry to keep bothering you!

No need for brake rez? How come? Also yes 12 is much smaller but it was with 11 so I will keep it there. In regards to the fan, the EA wiring only has one fan connector whereas I have 2 on the EJ and I have a couple of fans so I thought I would just use those instead. Can you think of any other connectors that I will need to include? I know the fuel pump is one but that was on the secondary loom so I may have to cut down that other loom for the sake of including the fuel pump. Thanks for the help!

Hey guys, First of all I would just like to say thanks for helping me out with all my questions. I am sorry if they are repetitive or dumb, I am trying to not make a major mistake with a critical part of the ej swap (wiring harness), and I don't know much about wiring in general. I made a huge mistake with not properly labeling the connectors as I pulled them out, it was a rookie move and I am paying for it right now. If there is anyone that can point me in the right direction after this I would be greatly appreciative. I have only cut out the cruise control and cruise control relay. For reference this is a 1991 Legacy. Here is what I have identified: 1- Brake Rez 2- The 3 sensors all together, cam and knock sensors I believe 3- The 2 green check engine and 2 black diagnostic connectors that are found together 4- The double diode. Yeah I was not about to cut the harness up like that lol.... I kept the shielding and thats all going to go back on after the harness is cut down. I will take a look at the numbchux guide and god from there. Thanks for the help! If I have anything else do you mind if I message you? I appreciate it.

So what I did for the cruise control is snipped the wires at the unit, followed them back as far as possible, and cut them off there. Those were the only ones I knew for sure I didn't need on the harness. This is from a 91 legacy btw. For instance do I need #11? That is my problem I actually dont really know what I need and don't need, I was going to include what this guy has here: https://www.busaru.com/subaruvanagon/wiringharness I can identify the connectors in that guys post, but I cannot really identify any others, so I was worried about cutting out something I really need lol. I am sorry if this post is vague or not really easy to work with, I am VERY new to all this and feeling a bit overwhelmed which I am sure is normal. The two references that I just linked have different things they keep, but neither is swapping the ej in a 82 brat like I am so that is where I was getting lost. This is the EJ harness yea. I guess my question would rather be what connectors do i NEED? I know I need things like the MAF, O2 sensor, etc. but I was unsure of what was the bare minimum. Thanks

Hey everyone... I may have messed up here and I am looking for some help. When I was pulling the harness from the donor car, I was not to knowledgable about what every connector was and I didn't label them accordingly, just the ones I knew. I am currently stripping my harness, and the only thing I have cut out so far is the cruise control. I have a bunch of pics and if anyone could help me identify some I would appreciate it a lot! I have numbered the connectors in questions, if there are more later on I can always upload more. I will also comment with some due to file size restrictions. Thanks!!

Hey everyone, For those who have knowledge on the swap, what fuel pump is a good option to put in a Brat that is being swapped with an EJ engine? Inline is usually the way to go right? Also if you have any tips and/or tricks on how to do this I have never done this before and could use some advice! Thanks a ton!

What would be a case where you need the wire but not the connector?

Hello everyone! I am a newbie when it comes to this so I just wanted to clarify before I do something dumb lol! I am swapping a '91 Legacy EJ22 engine and 5 speed in my '82 brat. I have the wiring harness stripped of the tape and shielding. For reducing the harness, am I just finding stuff I don't need and cutting off the connector, then taking the wires and following them back as far as possible and cutting them off? I just want to be sure before I do anything drastic. Also, I can run two different harnesses, the preexisting one in the brat in addition to the new one correct? With the EJ22 harness I wasn't planning on having the lights and stuff included since I have them already hooked up on the old harness. Thanks for the help! I appreciate it! Cheers

Hello everyone! I am redoing my clutch on my 1991 Subaru Legacy fwd and this is the kit I bought: https://www.carid.com/sachs/clutch-kit-mpn-kf738-01.html?singleid=1711581778?utm_source=email&utm_medium=order&utm_campaign=order_notification_mail The new throwout bearing is just ever so slightly to small for the sleeve that it sits on, like maybe just 1mm or so. I am not sure if they changed the sleeve mid year or something, but I cannot for the life of me find somewhere that will sell the sleeve. Does anyone know about the size difference or where I can get a sleeve? I was thinking about getting the sleeve lathed down a little to make it fit if all else fails but I hope not lol! Thank you for any help!

Do you have any tips or tricks to put the EJ inners on the EA shafts? Or do they really fit easily? Thanks mate!
