  1. Well I bought a clutch kit for a 4x4, but when compaired to the clutch that is on the engine still (the engine is out of a 4x4), the pressure plate is completely different, but the clutch disk fits on my spair tranny. The 2wd is an 82 sedan, the engine Im putting in it is from an 86.
  2. Are 2 wheel drive clutches different than 4 wheel drive clutches? Im putting the engine out of my old 4x4 hatch into my 2wd sedan. Both engines are EA-81. The clutch kit I bought yesterday is different then the one on the back of the engine Im putting in the car.
  3. Has anyone come up with a 6 inch lift for an EA-81 yet, I havnt been around for a while so I dont know.
  4. The kit I got is a fel-pro, could I put silicon gasget maker on the intake gasgets to prevent them from leaking in the future? And since my whole engine was covered in grease does that mean I have a valve cover leak?
  5. I got the intake off and the block was black , but 2 cans of degreaser later, and I can see the origional color on almost the whole engine. The engine Im going to use dosnt have a head gasget leak, so should I change them anyway since the engine is out and I have the "heads up gasget kit", and I need a couple of the gasgets out of the kit for the water pump and intake?
  6. Is an 82, EA-81 exactly the same as an 86, EA-81? I have an engine out of my old hatch that Im cleaning up, and I want to throw it in the 82.
  7. Will the drive line on an 86, EA-81 4spd d/r hatch fit on a square body EA-82 wagon with a 5spd, push buton 4x4?
  8. So last November I blew a head gasget going home from town. Well the car has been sitting since January. Could someone please walk me through the process of doing my head, exaust, intake , and valve cover gasgets? I dont have the money to get the heads checked at a shop, so Im going to pull heads off a different ea81 and use them. do I need to get new studs for the intake, exaust, heads, and valve covers? And can I do this without messing with the vaccume lines, like pull the intake/ carb off together? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank You:)
  9. I think I need to replace my heater core too, because it only blows out cold air
  10. This sucks the engine started knocking really bad, and and steam started pouring out from the hood. I parked it on the side of the road because I knew it wouldn't make it up the hill just ahead. I don't mind doing this, I just don't want to deal with those darn vaccume lines.
  11. I was coming home from court this morning and didn't think to check my water level, and blew my passenger side head gasket. It is always one thing after another. But I need to pull the engine any way so I can fix a bad oil leak and put a new clutch in. I think I'm going to reseal the whole engine.
  12. I think I found out part of the problem. Today I tried to tighten the castle nut down on the problem side and the threads on my cv axle stripped right off.
  13. This is the # for hubs? Why are they so expensive?
  14. will any front hubs off an older sub work
  15. The cvs are new though, the splines keep getting stripped out inside
  16. Does anyone know the part number for front wheel hubs, because my subaru keeps eating them alive and the auto parts store says they cant get them without the number
  17. Try wheeling without doors and your rims flipped inside out:brow:
  18. My friend Daimen and I were just talking about that last night
  19. First whats the difference between a Subaru GL, and a Subaru DL? Second I heard you could put the cam and heads from an EA-71 into an EA-81 to up the horse power, is this true?
  20. Go with gorilla glue. My friend slashed one of his 35/12.5 baja claws while wheelin and put gorilla glue in the cut and the tire works like a dream
  21. I'm starting to hate my 2 wheel drive suby, on the way to pick up a cake for my friends birth day I striped out another wheel hub on the driver side. luckily a friend picked me up and i snaged another off my old 4x4 sub. The cv axle is still good though. Is the hub designed to strip before the axle? This is the second time its happened on that side.
  22. I think it's an EA-81 just because the engine is used all over the world for experimental air craft, so why couldn't they use it on a boat
