Sorry it's taken me so long to get to this. I just tried to hot wire the blower motor by running a power wire and a ground wire from the battery to the plug on the fan motor and got absolutely nothing. I tried with the key on and off and nothing happened. Am I doing this right or am I a complete moron lol?

Thank you. Next on the list is to take the winch off and put a new motor and solenoids on it and clean it up. Then a dual battery setup. I'm gonna try to keep this alternator because I'd hate to have to buy a nissan unit just to pull it out in a month or so when I start on my ej swap. I'll try to find the pics of the tubing before the winch was installed.

2 fuses that say heater are good, the resistor was going out because it would only work on 3 & 4. I'll try to hot wire it this weekend to see if the motor is still good. How often do the fan switches go out on these cars?

My heater fan stopped working back in March, so I replaced the blower relay. Just recently it stopped working again, so I checked the relay but it's fine. Can you guys point me in the direction of a good heater troubleshooting thread? BTW the car is an 86 EA82 wagon. Thanks guys.

I'm in the same boat, gonna do inner and outer tie rods tomorrow. -
Replaced my passenger front wheel bearings friday before last, then had to replace the driver fronts just the next tuesday. Did the bfh mod to the door side of my front inner fenders 5 minutes ago because I'm tired of the tires rubbing, and as soon as I find a good thread I'm gonna either advance/retard my timing so I can run regular octane fuel instead of premium.

Awesome, thank you very much. It takes way more than that to offend me

My buddy found a 3.7 LSD, and I have an open 3.9 rear to put the guts in. I read the LSD swap thread in the off road mods section, but there's no pics of the process. I'm mainly looking for a pic of the material I need to remove from the 3.9 rear to make room for the LSD carrier, and see if there's enough space to get a cut off wheel or angle grinder in there.

Hopefully it dosnt take a dump on me before friday, then I can go to pnp and get a cam tower. There's a car there that has a nice shiney engine, it dosnt have any oil grease or road grime on it.

Well I got the car back last night and it was running like a turd, so I pulled over and popped the hood and saw the vacuum line that kept blowing off before wasn't hooked up. After I put it on it ran better, but not nearly as good as it used to. This morning on my way to work, it struggled to get up to hwy speeds and on a hill I usually take in 4th at 55mph I had to take in 3rd doing about 35. I looked under the hood when I got here, and one of the disty bolts wasn't even tight, so I twisted the disty and got a little more power out of it, but it still isn't what it used to be. I'm so frustrated right now

Last time this happened to me I sheared the roll pin for the disty gear. Yesterday they pulled the disty out obviously, but didn't see anything wrong with the gear. They were gonna give me a quote to open the valve cover and see what was wrong in the cam tower, but they couldn't source the parts to replace whatever could be wrong in there. The guy told me I was probably better off finding a new engine. I'm not gonna go through the hassle of replacing a motor if I can just replace the cam tower. It just makes no since, I checked the position of the rotor on tdc #1 cylinder, and it was on the #1 plug wire on the cap.

Just might have to buy a new dd and swap my ej in.
-
Well I took the car to the shop yesterday, I couldn't figure it out and that's my dd. Guess what they said it was? Distributor was 180º off. That was one of the things I checked, and it was on. Whatever though they figured it out. Thats the second time now my distributor has gone out of time. What do you guys think would cause that? The timing belts are perfect.

Yeah, belts are good.
