  1. Scott- Did you ever find a way to get them from Seattle/Everett up to you? I'm heading down that way this weekend/first part of next week. I can drop em off to you on my way home if needed???
  2. I'm proposing a saturday in november... this would also give us a chance to chat about a christmas tree run??
  3. Anyone interested in getting a group together for some good ol' Rocky Horror Picture Show entertainment in Seattle??? I haven't been in years.. if you haven't been to a live Rocky Horror show... It's... well.... entertainment.. It's close to Halloween... Just thought I'd put the thought out there to see if there was any interest....
  4. Hmmmm I have pics... not fancy ones... from wcss 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 Yep.. I'm in the running with Bratsrus for only one missed....
  5. YOu did did you??? It's nice to feel needed.... You kids can always call me at 360-739-3535 if you wish...
  6. There is a Fred Meyer (food, clothes, .... better than walmart) at I think its the same exit in Lacey as Costco.... Thats where I've stopped for every trip that I've made south.. its about the time i need gas and food...
  7. Most consecutive? I think maybe Jerry and I should get the "originals" award. Back in the day when only 20 of us showed up! I think Jerry and I have each missed only one??? Jerry???
  8. 39 is pretty high... Once in my 93 leg auto wagon (150,000k ish) I was traveling across Wyoming/Nebraska/Iowa when I achieved 34 mpg at 75 mph. That was running mid grade (since I've noticed in the midwest they tend to lower their octane) I had a tailwind...no rest area stops... nothin.. That was the best I ever saw.. My avg frwy mileage ran around 28 mpg. in town = 26
  9. Now where is that tree/brush guard when you need it? Also, I think I'm gonna need a lift soon.... Scott??
  10. Yah.. ok.. that was later than I thought .... I went up around 5.. or whenever I finished writing the above post... I had to go up a ways... But Perhaps I shall get some pics... It snowed at the house last night so today, I shall enjoy it before it all melts away
  11. HEY SCOTT! No snow up Northfork today! (Maybe a little slush) There is up Mosquito Lake Road. Not much to play in though. You'll have more luck going up further. Stop by the house if you get cold or something... Well, you know the phone number if you want to stop by..
  12. Come on Kids... PLEASE??? Let's go play in the snow.... I was thinking about getting a tree...But I'd be digging one up.. (How does the snow look up there??? anyone been up that direction???) If its too deep or frozen then I won't worry...
  13. Sooo.. What are we planning for roads? Brat or Impreza? (both non-lifted mind you) Or will there be pairing up in people's cars??? amanda
  14. Dang! I just did that yesterday. I'll be doing it again in a little over a month???
  15. I was reading in "Montana Magazine" a couple of months ago - 101 reasons to love montana I think #20 or so was "We love Subarus. Every parking lot, you would swear was a Subaru dealership" I'm sure its a bit different the more east you travel into the midwest
  16. Scott, be sure to take him on the "light" stuff. Not where you took me and the stock GL wagon??? There are some freakin cool roads up Mosquito Lake road that I would consider good for a stock-lifted Subaru. (Not WRX stock though) My Taco scraped a couple times.. only because I was going real fast and being stupid. Easy enough roads though. Someone ought to go on a ride with me on a sunny day.... Beautiful view of "The Sisters" and Mt Baker.
  17. Boy.. those others missed out.. Even though I didn't go camping, it looked like you kids had fun on the way up Mosquito Lake Rd and North Fork! Sorry I embarassed you by waving out of a green Taurus. Nice camp spot Scott. It was quite nice to meet "the fam" The road back to the spot was an adventure itself. I'm leaving the mud on my truck as memoribilia.
  18. There is a provincial park (I'd have to look it up) just south of Radium Hot Springs (I think thats the name of it) Its not well marked off of the highway but if you go up this dirt road with a lot of sharp rocks in it and follow it up about 3-4 miles, there is a wide spot in the road with a potty. Walk down the path and there are some nice natural hot spring pools down there. Some guy I met at a B&B in Calgary told me about it. Maybe it was just extra cool since I was super ready to be out of the car!
  19. OK. Heres the scoop. I miss my Subie wagon something fierce. I have a lovely 2005 Toyota Tacoma. It has helped me arrive in places I never needed to go. I do miss the turning and "go-cart" feel of my Subies. (So right now I"m back to driving the Brat) I'm going to be upside down on the truck if I try to sell it or trade it in. The Toyota was fun for awhile until I realized how much I used a wagon. (I could put a canopy on the truck and spend 2500$ and lose visability that I need badly since I drive in tight spots in the dark). I also get car sick a heck of a lot faster in the truck. I don't know if its the suspension or the dark or the confined space??? The ground clearance is nice and so is the actual engaging 4WD. I could finance (through a newer car stealership) the residual in the truck into a newer Subie. :-\ I went looking at an Impreza Outback 07... Excuse me.. 07 Outback Sport. I'm not excited about engaging in another 2.5 but I don't see much option at this point. I guess I could head for a 2.0 but.. wait.. lets laugh a min. Not going to spend that much money right now. I've decided on an outback sport since it does give me a little more clearance but still a youthful good gas mileage car. (The Tacoma isn't bad for this.. I get 22-23 mpg) (What realistically are you getting out of your OBS?) I want a Legacy Outback but I don't really want to spend the extra money for the space and a vision of Baby car seats, dog gards and handicap permits. Sooo.... In my visions of this OBS, I'm looking at maybe a couple inches more to the clearance and maybe... just maybe...a D/R conversion in the far future. I want a car that I can keep and be happy with for the long term. (Are you still ok with your OBS or Imp after years???) I'm assuming, after reading the Auto/Man discussion that perhaps a stick would be better for the things I have in mind for this car. But then on the other hand, if the Auto AWD works better, then I can agree to be lazy too. I don't want to pay alot for something I could care less about. (But then again, Which is more maintenance?) Another question: If I"m looking towards lifting it, is there anything in the newer models that would make this impossible or very frustrating and difficult?? I'm not keen on being a guinea pig to answer the above question so I'm hoping that someone thats had the experience of lifting old/new can fill in some ideas... (Oh lordy.. I hope the difference in what the tacoma is worth, what I owe and what they are willing to give me isn't too bad!!!) (Maybe I'll try craigslist and auction all the Tacoma and parts for the tacoma off separately.)
  20. Can't tell you much about the school but I can tell you that its expensive to live here!
