Ya know, when I went to the Hooters on Lake Union, I was disappointed. I know that people go there for the -food- but really, I couldn't see any other reason for wanting to go? The girls all had too much make-up and were wearing shoes that didn't match their outfit. PLEASE!

Hehe.. I got him from a guy in town (Bellingham) that was selling it for about 1/4 of what most people buy their Brats for. I thought it was a misprint in the classifieds.. nope.. i had actually had my eye on it before he even put the for sale sign in it... so it was a happy story book ending... well.. almost.. That is, until I realized that the boy is spending more time with MY truck than he is with me and more time that I even get to look at it.. *sigh*

No no... First of all I'm thinking I'd like to get it into good condition first... redo the paint... make sure no rust forms etc... Sure, I'll take the P.O.S. on with the Hatch Patrol some day.. (You do realize I'm talking about the POS Forester - not the Brat) Second, The Brat has no hatch.. so it cannot be a Hatch Patroler.. But when I get my GL wagon out there, I'm gonna start my own "Female Hatch Patrol" (are you ready for this?) I'm gonna call it: "The Booby Hatch". Or at least name my wagon that. Makes sense in sooo many ways. But for now, I'm just gonna catch up on some maintenance and care...

Ohhh don't worry... I have an 03 and found rust around the back window of my car after the first winter... ohhh that only has like a 5000 mile warrenty... I told them I had a bumper to bumper 36k warrenty.. but they said that the paint was only covered in the first few... I said #^@% it, I'll go get a new paint job in a few years and thats what I'll do.. No use in fighting a battle I know I won't win.

it was 45 degrees out. Just at an idle. Nothing out of the ordinary.. except for a strange vibrating sound not long before it happened. I checked everything and couldn't find what was vibrating. I thought it would just be an engine shake. I had no warning- no lamps, NO overheating. I knew to watch the temp gauge but it did not move up or down- not a bit! The coolant smell burned off after 3 days. I kept checkin to make sure nothin was leakin or i was low on anything. So far so good. I"m still nervous. I called my favorite Subaru repair place in Seattle and asked some more detailed questions and just had to realize its too early to tell...

Seattle Group Meet
BlueSoob replied to The Scooby's topic in Meet n' Greet. Your USMB Welcome Center
Friday is really better for me as i have to work on Saturday/sunday night as well. I would love to come down and hang out/eat/get muddy and I don't really care where we meet up. alki is off in its own little world. As long as the west seattle bridge isn't closed it shouldn't be too bad... I vote Friday (please?) -
Well, I'm sitting there, idling at 4:30 am... all of a sudden I hear a buzzing noise, then a pop, then steam comes through my heater vents and out of the hood I thought.. WTF? So I turned off the car and checked to make sure everythign was still attached... nothing was leaking... no signs of anything... I thought hmmm.. this is weird.. a blower motor perhaps? the engine gave me no reason to believe it was upset.. I get it towed anyhow... to the dealership.. They call me at 2:00 to say my car is ready.. I thought -hey, must have been something that came loose or a simple fix. wow- I get there and I'm reading over the comments on the statement and it says I have a leaking head gasket and also an oil leak in one of the cam seals. WONDERFINKINGFUL. I took it over to the service manager to get more info... and he said that the -SUBARU TECH LINE- told the mechanics to put "coolant conditioner" in to stop the leak. WHAT A BUNCH OF FINKING NONSENSE! I thought, hmmm this will last like a snow ball in hades... I was VERY disappointed with that. I know its not the dealerships fault. Next time I'm going to go straight to the Factory Rep and deal with him. 45,907 miles! I have been sooooo good about scheduled maint, oil changes, picky about oil.. etc.. What in the heck happened? I went out and test drove a Jeep Wrangler today.. and a Full size Chevy truck. It was nice... Thinking about a switch.. What a PAIN IN THE KNEE! (Its so hard to express the frustration I feel right now and still be family friendly.)

At what mileage are the head gaskets on 2.5s expected to go? My Forester just got a clean bill of health from the dealership mechanic with over 45,000 on it. I'm making it a game to see how long I can nurse it- if I even have to. I hear its a 60-80,000 mile problem. Anyone willing to put money on a mile?

Are you 100% Hard Core SUBARU?
BlueSoob replied to WJM's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
You mean like why I cringe at the newspapers 2WD Mazdas and I thank my stars that I drive my own car for work? You mean why I've only owned 3 cars in my life... an 88GL, 93Legacy and an 03Forester? Why my attention turns for every commercial for Subaru, whether Armstrong is in it or not? Why I would like to ride with/kiss Petter Solberg? (What could be better? A Norwegian, an accent, money, A SUBARU!) -
Depends on the bike I had a 15 inch frame on my KHS Summit mtn bike and i took the front wheel off and stood it upright in the back of my legacy.. FIT LIKE A CHARM! Seat in rear was folded down of course. I had a yakima system but having it inside cut down on noise. I've tried to fit the same bike into my 03 forester. Since the body length is a little shorter, I have to turn the bike slightly diagonal but the seat clears the ceiling with NO PROB.. just have to turn it sideways... I don't know what size of bike you're trying to fit where... but I know in my Legacy it fit perfect... the forester you may have to search positions but it 'Should' fit if you take the front wheel off. (Mine did but no promises) all hope is not lost.

I'm going to cry now. Thats EXACTLY (except the steering wheel) like my First Subaru. You want $$ for it??? I'll pay you more than gas for it. I'd prefer that it wasn't auto. but I have always wanted mine back... :*****-(

I would trust John's workmanship over many people in this area. I only wish he lived closer so that I wouldn't worry so much about taking my car to others.

ITS BLUE! -
Hwy 9 is the way i go to get back and forth from Deming to Seattle... Well I usualy jump off near everett but its not that far from the main and EVERYONE tows trailers of some sort back there... not much traffic.. just watch and go slow on the corners... it will only take a few mins more and its MUCH more scenic.. I take it you left it at Bow Hill? Thank goodness that you made it through the "nasty" part around Lake Samish

And the best part about it is... ITS BLUE!!
