Hi everyone, its been a while since i was on. I've been fussing with this car and finally got it running not 100% but well. Most common items have been replaced. Coil, cap rotor etc. Vacuum lines, fuel system parts and more. Recently have narrowed down my loss power issue. Not firing on 1 and 3. When cold the injectors will respnd and run on all 4. Gets warm 1 and 3 dead. I replaced the injectors on 1 and 3 still same issue but now cold and hot seem dead on 1 and 3. Im leaning on the engine control unit under the steering wheel to possibly be the reason. But i dont know for sure. Ideas or help troubleshooting this issue would be awesome. Im so close to having this old girl back in action.

Im interested in selling my wagon. Im not a subaru guru, but i got it running. Still has some issuesand thought someone who knows this ea82t engine could get it to full potential. She's in great shape for the year. If you know someone or you that might want to buy it id take 1200 for it.

I changed everything prior to first ignition. New cap, rotor. Plugs, wires, coil, fuel, filter, air filter, fuel pump, vacuum lines,( i broke the thermo vac valve, but plugged the kines) new battery, tires and brakes.it doed run best when its cold. After warmed up "rusty: changes to being rough. I did notice the air box assembly hase hose issues. Need to mention it smells like its running rich, do you think the turbo is not functioning right Not sure where that is at? The air box? Or the part that says turbo on top of the engine?

Hi all, with everyones help and ideas i got.to test drive today. However, she is cranky. I cant go over 3200 rpms in first gear, some back firing, and can get to 2nd gear. Flooring the gas pedal while in gear it wants to fall on its face. Super Dave sent a great link on theses cars. I got some reading to do but any ideas?

86 gl10 front brake caliper
Creelux replied to Creelux's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I sure appreciate the advice. I got the tp turn in. I used my caliper tool that is meant to compress but attachrd one of the plates to it to turn it in instead. It was a pain but worked well. -
Im trying to compress the caliper piston in and it will not push in. This car has the E brake on the front and feel it is preventing my attempts. Can someone help me with what to do??

Hi all. Wanted to say thank you for all the advice so far with my projec with the gl10 sub 4*4. Its running and starting now cold and hot. After 9 or more years under a groove of trees. I found the temp sensors at napa. Total cost for 2 is under 40 us dollars with my military discount. Ive had good luck so far with Napa, Autozone , and parts geek.. i got a fuel pump for 90 bucks shipped. I checked auto zone for brake pads...15 dollars for the front set and 25 for the back. There is hope for these old legends!!. I understsnd at some point what might be needed hits a wall of cost. So far so good. The kids love this old school stuff living in todays life.. ...

Thanks dave. I idi finally find the other sensor. In the process of extracting it. Ive been lucky so far with parts. Got a fuel pump from parts geek s shipped for 90 dollars. A temp sensor for gauge for 20 snd other 25 dollars they have in stock at napa. Ive also been to autozone for a couple things. Impressed with what the computer database has availiable still.

Hi all, I have that gl10 wagon with an ea82t engine and im replacing the temp sensors in it as you all advised me to check do to a not wanting to start after it gets warm. Ive located a single terminal one in the thermostat housing. I understand that there is a 2nd one.??? Not sure where to look. Also there is a to prong plug directly on top of the thermostat housing that is part of the housing assembly. What is that? I do appreciate everyone helping understand this new car to me.sure learning a alot.

Its is has a 4 speed manual transmission.

What is the CTS?

Thanks Bennie Its been awhile, ive been working on this car with my son. We have done many things to it including your suggestions. We fired it up this weekend and it ran. After changing some bad fuel lines shortly after it started it ran for awhile. Smokey and leaky. Things appearead to level out, but it has a heck of a time starting again after it got up to temp. I did break the the thermo vaccuum valve but capped the 3 little hoses off.. do you have some ideas?

Hi all, So i finally got this ea82t engine to start after many years of sitting. It has new coil, plugs, cap rotor, thermostat, vacuum lines, fuel lines, fuel pump. Fired right up, a bit rough, leaky and smokey, but smoothed out after 15 mins of running. After it gets to temp, it has a heck of a time restarting.???? Any guidance for this. Also i did break the thermo vacuum valve and I capped off the lines that went to it.. The 4 wheel drive button does not engage the tranny....??? Ideas for that.

Man, thanks so much. Everones advice is sound and logical. So that im understanding correctly, remove efi / disconnect hoses snd reverse the +/- . Should cause pumped to run in reverse. Also blow into a fuel line back to the tank with cap off to clear the line. Any suggestions about dropping the tank?? Is it imperative? Any alternatives. Like siphon the tank add mor fuel snd re siphon???

The oil was dirty/old. Normal looking color. Their was nothing in the radistor. Someone drained it. I appreciate the advice. Should i disconnect a fuel line to cycle the efi pump?

Hi everyone, i recently picked up a 1986 gl10 wagon 4wd turbo wagon. It wasn't running when it s parked in 2009. Ran just before it was. My son snd I are going to bring her back to life. One thing im nit sure what engine is in it. I can't find an obvious clarification. This would help me finding parts. Ive started with the basics. Plugs, wires coil, distributor, rotor oil change, fluids and etc. Fuel system debating? Filter yes, anything else??? Like dropping ther tank and drain?. Anybody have things to consider before i turn the key for fire??

Hi everyone, i am new here. A couple weeks ago I brought home a 1986 gl10 4wd turbo wagon thst has been sitting on my friends farm under a groove a oak trees since 2009 Its in great shape considering the time. When it was parked back then to my understanding it ran just before the car was parked cause it stopped running. I want to get her going again and teach my son to drive a stick shift and help with my adventure to bring this old gem back to life ?Can you suggest the proper forum?
