yeah, just find one in the junkyard, need dizzy, fuel pump, manifold and carb.

that's the idea, long periods of time at high speed cruise, my therory is the super cold intake charge from the intercooler should keep the manifold decently cold (i hope) lol ill get some temp readings sitting at idle after it's fully warmed up and then ill cruise for a little bit and measure again and ill post the results!

so, what your saying its a dead platform because of lack of parts? i just replaced the entire engines worth of parts, so... maybe you haven't found the resources i have, ive been able to get every part i could ever need without issues for both the ea and the TT im not a fan of the twin turbo either, its got smaller turbos then the ea82, lol. its what i was asked to build, ive tried to convince otherwise, not happening. as for "custom mods" what do you call an ej swap then? i see right now, an ej swapped GL having a hard time being sold for like.. what 300 bucks? its on this forum. the only custom mods ive done is add an intercooler and fix all the leaks and cleaned the injectors. i can just take the intercooler off and its 100% stock

im okay with lower boost for now while i still sort the car out. there was a ton of bad air leaks and corroded sensors, it was not treated well by the PO. so far all you've done is criticize, though that's helpful in its own way, its still not very nice. its basically going to be stock parts, good sensors, no leaks, cold air, and heat management. keeping it light and keeping all the fluids clean, i don't see the problem

had some extra thermal tape , thought id try to sheild the intercooler from also picking up unwanted engine bay heat to reduce heat soak..

now what to do with the hood scoop.... i kinda went ocd with how many fins were damaged and bent so i went over the whole top and bottom and removed the damaged fins and straightened the rest... oof bout 6 hours total, lol

installed a "stage 2" competition clutch from an ej. measured a tiny bit thicker then the ea disk, like .6mm should give it a little more bite

finnaly got some parts in, finished up the intake manifold and its ready to go on the car now! hopefully that will keep intake temps slightly lower, we shall see!

yeah, i see what your saying, but im never going to build a subaru for profit, its just for fun... ive got some other projects that are worth much more of my time that aren't subaru.. im just building a winter beater while im stuck at home... i could just fall back in the shadows and keep my thoughts to myself i guess

if you seen my post in the members ride section you'd see im doing every bit of maintenance i can to this engine, and i have taken your advise in a few sections already... and im really not into ej swapping the car, ive got enough ej work to do on my twin turbo build thats haunting me with all its insane amount of vac lines and attention to detail im putting into it, im just doing this ea82t stuff as like a thought experiment... kinda like a "what ive learned my whole life dealing with ea's" kinda dealio, getting an external oil pump and cooler was part of the plan, and im planning on running high quality synthetic oils i do appreciate your efforts helping others, it just comes off as quite biased, and for good reason, if not a bit dismissive. some people like apples, some people like covering their faces with bees and running into an electric fence, lol

looked over the wire harness and cleaned up all the connectors with a couple welding tip cleaners adjusted the pins a little bit so they would have a little more clamping force and covered in dielectric greese, did this for every clip

got an svx thermostat and trimmed alittle of the outside metal to fit. drilled a couple holes to let some coolant flow all the time so water wont stagnate.

noticed the thermistor gasket was all decayed and the whole thing was leaking air badly, that and the motor driving it was missing an o-ring the wires were also broken and bad, so i soldered new ones and replaced the o-ring no more leaks now! ,

ported the wastegate with the turbo off and smoothed the inside turn to improve flow, used a shop vac and carbide dremel bit.

went to about 5 or 6 auto part stores and bought all the strange shaped coolant hoses i could find i took calipers and matched them up cleaned the intake manifold cleaned the block, and replaced both the horiffiying coolant hoses of death, lol! new NJK plugs

here's the intercooler, going to mount it when the engine gets back in found a heater core on amazon that was cheep and it will be for cooling the return water coming from the turbo before it gets back into the head

well, i figure i should just start posting pictures of my wagon build here hopefully it can keep me motivated cleaned up the engine bay, cv boots are bad, waiting on them with a few other parts smoothed out the wastegate to exhaust pipe heatwrapped the exhaust and resealed the oil pan

lmao, nope not british, but defiantly stubborn. this basically is my last ea engine im ever gonna spend time on, im going to retire from being a mechanic after i finish my last two projects.. just building this 88 gl-10 and then a 98 legacy postal wagon swaping in a twin turbo ej20, but that's another story
