  1. Should have added #4 though. The flat arm that runs forward from #2 and bolts to #3. Just saying.
  2. There were lots of parts dug out and looked at. Some were bought, others put back. Main concern of mine is, did you buy and take a disty with you? Had one sitting near where your stash pile was.
  3. Yes, it was a good day. Always glad to help out other Members if/when possible If the manifold in above pic of engine is the one you plan on putting on the engine out of Rupert, it's an EA81 manifold. Did you actually get two manifolds?, Don't remember everything you bought. Was still some things sitting on the floor Monday that I thought you had taken with you.
  4. PM me you email addy, I have pics for you.
  5. I have the washer bottle, taillight, Tan dash trim.
  6. In the search for hard to find coolant leaks, I've found that darkness and a decent flashlight works wonders. Get the engine up to operating temp, shine the flashlight around looking for steam, try to narrow down where it's coming from. You can un-plug the electric fan, remove belt driven fan, if need be to eliminate the air flow from them. Just don't let it get to hot while doing the search. And no. A blown head gasket doesn't mean steam out the exhaust, or coolant in the oil. Many different ways a head gasket can blow out.
  7. The above pic showing the glovebox door, it looks good to me. It's much better than the hole in the dash mine has. Really only need the surround for the radio, including the ashtray. I have the radio/tape deck units. Package tray sounds good. Keep an eye out for that trim under the steering column. (yeah, I said steering wheel before) I do want the rockers, both sides, but those will be a separate purchase. Front fenders aren't really a "I need them" thing, but thinking a spare set wouldn't hurt. So those may be a "buy it later" thing. So for now, let's concentrate on the dash area pieces.
  8. Can't help but wonder if there's a vac leak, mainly thru the PCV system. Reason for that thought is it seems to be running "Lean" for the most part, but disconnecting MAF makes it "rich" and it runs better. Really sounds like vac leak. Don't know, just thought at large. And PCV system hasn't been mentioned yet
  9. To start with, I need glovebox door, package tray below glovebox, radio surround, trim below steering wheel. Have to check whether that was it on missing interior stuff. Body wise, I could use the rocker skins off both sides, maybe both front fenders. It will take me a bit to save up money, so no real hurry in getting things pulled yet.
  10. subaruxt.com has the FSM you can download. Found in the General discussion forum under Tech info.
  11. What a shame that such a nice looking Hatch gets totaled like that. When it comes time, I could use quite a bit of parts from it, if you're willing to do shipping. Hard to tell from pics, but is the interior Grey?
  12. Pain in the ____ to replace, but doable. AutoZone has them, P/N 2-0430DL for about $20 each rockforddriveline.com lists them also, P/N 430-10. No price given on the site. I used a cut-off wheel to cut the cross out, then pushed the caps inwards. Cleaned up the staking marks with dremel tool. Thinking I'll let a shop do them if ever needed again.
  13. Neither of the Black ECM's I've swapped into my '88 primes the pump if I just turn the key to "On". Thought it might be the start of an issue, but maybe not going by the above post.
  14. I chased what I thought was a code 55 in my '88 Wagon. What I finally determined is that it actually is doing the spec code and not a 55 code. I sat in the seat and watched it blink for a few minutes. 5 flashes, short pause, 5 flashes, long pause, then it repeated over and over. Turns out that the second set of 5 flashes are the same duration as the first set. So that says it's flashing a 5 only, not a 55. Had me chasing my tail for a bit. Maybe that's what yours is doing.
  15. Yeah, the automotive electrical system can be a pain to troubleshoot at times. Lost ground for "this circuit", can show as a problem in another circuit. Makes for a "fun day". I'm by no means an expert, but have learned things over the years.
  16. Thinking that I would get a couple cans of carb cleaner, then systematically go thru all of the vac lines. Shot of cleaner, short blast of air, rinse and repeat. Keep in mind that some of the original vac hoses have restrictors in them, so care must be used with those lines/hoses. ATF likes to "hang out", doesn't run off like oil will. Best thing ever to coat anything made of cast iron with if it's going to sit around a bit. So it does take a bit of cleaning to get any residuals out of hoses/tubing.
  17. Been a thread or two recently on the swapping in of fuel pumps. Dig back thru some of the recent fuel related threads, you'll find the info. I would do it, but my computer won't let me do links/pics/quotes what have you.
  18. Sorry Dave, but if the front turnsiginal doesn't work, the dash indicator does, (or should), flash, but the flash will be rapid. If a rear turnsiginal goes bad, dash indicator won't flash, but system will light the dash indicator. Hearing the turnsiginal flasher click, but no dash indicator light, means the dash bulb is out. That is a basic of all vehicles turnsignal systems. Been that way since the beginning, even with the separate rear brake/turn indicators. I have yet to find anything to the contrary of it.
  19. Fuel pump is wearing out. Cheapest replacement is the FORD pump for the dual tank pickups. Got to get creative with fittings to hook up the stock lines to it.
  20. Liking this... The retirement plan is motor home and a towed vehicle to do the running around in. Got an '82 BRAT that needs the work done to it to fit the "toad" part of that plan.
  21. Agree with the above. It will take a bit of driving to clear the system(s) out. Do know from the wrench-turners I grew up around, that ATF was good for cleaning the upper end of the engine. Valves, valve seals, combustion chambers , what have you. Kinda wanted to believe those guys, so have dribbled some ATF down the intake of a few engines. Gets rid of the pesky bugs that want to be flying around........
  22. Emailed you the FSM files.
  23. I'd do it. Done it a few times actually. If I didn't know better, I'd swear that was my 1st ever Subaru in that pic, only mine didn't have the canopy on it when I bought it.
  24. Failing door switch or it's connection is the issue. Door switch is at the "B" pillar area. Has nothing to do with harness going to the door.
