  1. I would like to hear all the information people have on this subject as I am also getting ready to do the TD04 swap into an RX. Pictures, diagrams, and links would be great! Thanks everybody! -Eli-
  2. That sucks... they look very much the same. Oh well.. Yeah.. my cam siezed and it ate the belt. Thanks for the info. Hey.. how do you guys feel about running with NO timing belt covers? Front or Back. Thanks.
  3. I have an extra set of timing belts for the XT6 and I need a set for the RX, are they compatable? Thanx.
  4. 94 SVX LSi book tells me ~18 gallons... at E and I fill it I get 14 Gallons... I have gone ~40 miles beyond E to what looked "1/8" tank BELOW E and still could only put in 15.5 gallons!
  5. turbos take a larger clutch if you do the 5spd swap also.. so you would need the flywheel / tranny / clutch / etc from a turbo EA82 car and I recommend using the XT6 clutch.
  6. Not trying to hi-jack the thread here but a EA82 Turbo in good condition is capable of doing WELL over 105mph. As for your non-turbo stock EA82 SPFI. If it is truely stock, tires and everything, I would highly recommend not going more than 100mph, even on a track. Now with tire and suspension upgrades, on a track, I would feel comfortable seeing if i could get that spfi motor up to 120.. a 5spd in good condition should be perfectly capable of it.
  7. Yeah.. the most i'll do is probably remove it to cruise around and then put it back on at the end of the day... i like the view out the rearview mirror with the hatch open it would be fun to cruise around with a few friends with the hatch off up in the mountains... I'll take pics when I do it!
  8. looks sharp.. i bet it would help keep wind off the passengers real good
  9. That text looks like he copied that source and edited a couple things to suit his needs. Same exact pics and everything.
  10. So I know a lot of you would be like "Wtf for?" but we have great sunny weather down here 99% of the time. So what I was wondering is if the rear hatch on the RX is providing structural integrity at all? That glass weighs a lot.. so Maybe I could replace it with a roll bar if there is a structural integrity issue? but I would kinda like to just take it off for nice summer cruises in the mountains. What do you all think? or maybe even go so far as turning it into a brat style RX? Remove the rear seats completely.. remove the rear interior and rhino line the "bed".. seal up the cabin behind the front seats...
  11. Sorry everybody. The Brat is Jessica's and she is very fond of it. And what kind of collectors would we be if we started selling our collection???
  12. Their 600+ is bored Uhm.. I'll take one for the brat, one for the rx, one for the xt, and hey, even one for the SVX. Santa? I've been a good boy this year!
  13. And you can still get STD's from oral intercourse.
  14. And how do you feel about me using a used assembly from an 87 on my 88?
  15. Thoughts on this? Good Idea? Bad Idea? I'll probably get it if it will get me up and running good. I dont know about cam wear and stuff like that??
  16. How freely should that cam spin inside that cam tower when it is off the motor like that? I can get it to move with my big ol' 7/8" wrench... but it's not easy... I tried some WD to loosen it up and it seemed to help a little.. but it does not move easy. Anyone know if I can just order new cam towers with performance cams in them?
  17. Okay B! You can't have the SVX.. so you want the one with no wheels, the one with a cam tower missing, or the one with water spraying into the valve cover?
  18. So then should I just replace this part? Anyone got one for sale? this is the 1-3 side. I should probably get the stuff I need to make it work properly along with it?? Do I need gaskets? Cam Tower Gasket? Valve Cover Gasket? Help! The car actually f'ing started up with this removed and no spark plugs in 1&3. I only let it run about 2 seconds... but WHOA. So yeah.. this is the part that is gumming up the operation.
  19. Turbo Wagon wheels... I'm told they are different than the regular wagon wheels? Different offset or something? I can see a difference that looks like it would be offset. Anyway.. I like the way it looks.. and feels. I would like to blast them and powder coat them white.
  20. '82 GL Wagon: Idiot in '91 Eclipse made N to W left turn in front of me S bound @ 55mph. Taco'd the eclipse. His glass shattered so bad some landed inside my left ear canal. My glass didn't break. Spare tires in the back destroyed back seat. Seat belt prevented me from being seriously injured. Brian - you don't still have a pic of her floating around anywhere do you?? '98 Legacy 2.5GT: Jessica wasn't used to the oversteer from the rear sway and strut that I installed and put it into a telephone pole @ ~30mph. (At least she didn't drift into the oncoming traffic!) Used insurance pay off to finance SVX. (See "DREAM CAR" thread.) That's okay.. I just need a little more time!!! On the list: Gen 1 Brat, Gen 1 Wag, 82 GL Wag, ~89 XT Turbo, ~93 Legacy Turbo, '97 2.5 RS, Throw a Justy in there somewhere.. maybe an STI.. I fully intend to hoard Alcyones too.
