  1. I could put a Triton V-10 badge on my brat.. doesn't mean it is. I have NO badges on my Legacy.. does that make it a plain "Subaru"? (Rear trunk "light" has the word Subaru in it.. didn't want to try and change that.)
  2. Hey.. that's no problem.. why don't you give me a call when you get home from work and we'll talk a little bit about it. I'm dying to know what is going with the RX... I'm sure it would be VERY easy to turn that brat rear-end into a trailer... and HOW COOL would that look a GEN 1 Brat towing a GEN 1 Brat trailer?!!! Does Larry have a welder or at least an oxycetaline torch??? I also have a tongue that will work good for it.. but it's kind of heavy because it's steel. (and I may want to keep it because it's for hauling my brat behind a truck..) I think it would be cool to use part of the front end of the brat for the front of the trailer. Instead of just some piece of sheet metal... Does anyone have any tips or measurements or anything to get a proper tongue weight and balance? I'm sure I can do the math/geometry/etc required to make it a good reliable trailer... but I always like short cuts... so let's hear what you've got.
  3. RUST PRIMER. You said you're taking it to a body shop.. I assume you are having it sanded and painted. Navy Jelly or another top of the line RUST KILLER / RUST PREVENTER primer before you paint it please!!! Keep that thing from rusting out!!! It's gorgeous! Welcome to the board.
  4. I want to help build it. Gonna call you right now.
  5. That's shady as hell.. you might check out the people you bought it from.. or even better have the police check them out..
  6. I never have any problem just letting the clutch out a bit to disengage the hill holder... just takes a little practice..
  7. Didn't they put EA81 into brumbies until '94? Not trying to thread steal here so I'll say this... Please correct me if I'm wrong. They produce Ej15, 16, 18, 20, 22, and 25 ... The smaller ones get imported to other countries with more expensive gas etc... I'm actually kinda of surprised Subaru doesn't make a "Justy" style on an EJ18 platform w/ a dual range tranny these days... (at least for America?? They probably do for other countries.)
  8. Sounds like someone may have re-wired some things under your dash to make it so they could have their radio on without the key in the car??
  9. 90% of the time I wouldn't let someone PAY ME to take a wrench to MY subarus.
  10. Yeah dude.. I dont know if I'll be able to do the rebuild by then thoough
  11. Brian is one of my best friends.. if I have the money for gas I'll drive the Legacy up there and ride with him
  12. I always shift my auto.. as if it were a manual with no clutch. I like downshifting to help slow down.
  13. Well a multimeter is like a voltage / current / etc tester.. it's like a voltimeter but with more options... im not sure what a pinout is though.. a method of testing your computer i guess... to make sure all the "pins" are transfering current....
  14. That is definately a fusable link.. if you can't find any at a junkyard or a subaru dealer I can send you one.. what color is it? I think the ignition one is green?
  15. NGK Plat.. yup.. about $12 a piece.. I found 'em for $10.50 by shoppin around
  16. I jump my Legacy on a regular basis.. never really hard.. just over some railroad tracks.. about ~1sec of air.. The brat gets BASHED a lot on rocks because it's stock.. but I never can find the damage from them!! (Except if I drag the rock..) They're pretty damn tough cars in good condition...
  17. Couldn't help it.. used to have to type this all the time when I used to do data entry.. Albuquerque
  18. I have the only XT (xt6) I've EVER seen in Tucson. I saw an XT6 in phoenix once.. the guy driving it worked for Jessica's uncle.. but it was just 2wd.. and he wasn't into subaru's like us... he wanted to do a cat-back w/ a fart can and some suspension stuff and turn it into a ricer..
  19. I'd say plugs and plug wires every 60k.. depending how hard you drive... and I just became a loony toon about changing the AT fluid.. DO IT EVERY 30K MILES (or more)!!! Seriously.. thermal break-down of your AT Fluid will start to cause SERIOUS A$$ problems in these subaru AT's... Oil every 3-7k depends on the oil you use...
  20. that totally sucks.. what an ARSE ... Dealers license my ARSE. I bought an XT6 from a u-pull-it in the same exact situation you just described... I had to jump through hoops and get a sheriff to come do a "vin inspection" to get the title switched out of New Mexico.. but that was it.. the guy was an arse about the whole situation.. but he still sold it to me. No salvage title or anything. Some people should just be punched in the face though.. I bet if you started waving cash in front of their face that they would reconsider.
  21. Could be your brakes.. have you pulled the tire off to see how much pad you have left on there??
  22. Have you considered "Air bags" like they use on "Pimp My Ride" to make your ride height adjustable?? (They use them for weird things like making the bed of a truck lift up "dump" style.. or making an adjustable height seat.. etc) You would need a small compressor installed in your car.. and I dont know how they compare to hydro's.. just a thought.
