I've got aerospace glue that they use on 747 windows... is that too much??

First, thanks for the great info and link for the pump. The reason I ask about the fuel sock is because the fuel in the tank has been sitting for so long that it has turned into somethiing besides gasoline. I just assumed there was a fuel filter between the tank and pump.. like in other models.. but there isn't? I may use the old filter to "purge" the tank... and just stick it between the tank and pump. (and take it out when the tank is clean) Thoughts? Suggestions?? Thanks.

Okay so here's Sir Top'emHat. (Fuel Pump) And here's some under the hood hoses and filter: I need to replace ALL of this.. (or shorten every hose by 1-2 inches) Also I don't have pics of the rear fuel filter and his lines.. Any tips on where to get the fuel lines? Should I Upgrade these lines? or would it even make a difference with all the old lines still in there? Should I get replacement fuel lines from a dealer or can I trust a parts store for them? How hard is it to replace or clean a fuel sock? Do you gotta pull the whole gas tank?? Thanks!

You guys got it bad. Down here in Tucson.. the worst yard I've been to the guy escorts you around in the beater of the day.. and just sits in it and watches you. Hardcore about not letting you have fuses unless u pay for them. Most the yards down here will let you walk around.. a couple of yards the people will follow you and keep an eye on you.. a couple yards you can't bring your tools until you know what you need. There is two official U-Pulls. And only one of them (the good one, anyone need motors?) charges $1 per person to get into the yard. That is where I got my $420 dollar XT6 Fulltime w/ Push Button Diff.. and all it needs is a fuel pump, front cv's, a tune up, and some good tires. Oh, and this: Piece of trim I would like to have.

I like those guys. I wish I had 40k (just a stab in the dark) to spend on a 600hp bored out ej25 set up for my legacy -
XADO - anyone ever heard of it or used it?

If you liked the results.. and then put the engine back together... couldn't you just re-treat it?? -
Definately sounds like your rear pads are going south. You should be able to eyeball them to see how much pad you have left.. if you are familiar with pads. My 98 gt had the same symptoms when the rear pads were toast. Squeaked w/ no brakes applied... stopped when applied. It will get to the point that it squeaks always if you ignore it long enough...

Yeah I ran power directly to the fuel pump. It did *nothing*. I'm sure it's shot. Unless there's something about a fuel pump that a computer has to control?? But I figured if I give it direct power.. it should just pump. It didn't hum or whir or buzz or anything. I pulled it. It's in my closet. Is there another way to test them that maybe the pump does work? I haven't priced them out.. are they expensive new? Thanks.

sounds okay to me. -
For those of you that haven't been following along.. you can get the "Whole" story here: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=36657 http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=36940 I finally got some pics of it and did a compression test today. All cylinders are between 145-170 PSI.. Everything is looking good. Rotor turns, sparks. Got good spark from the coil. Timing looks okay. I'm pretty sure what I need to get it running... a FUEL PUMP for SURE. Spark plugs, wires. Then as soon as I get the motor up and running.. gotta do the front axles.. get some decent tires.. and make sure the electronic suspension is still working. Then a full tune.. oil, air, cap, rotor, etc. Now without further ado.... PICS: This is the *WORST* part of the car... I'm hoping that windshield molding piece will cover up the real bad spot.. eventually I will replace the windshield. But it's usable like that. I can't wait to drive it!!! P.S. Is that "Gunmetal" paint color?

I saw these symptons in an 82 GL Sedan.. it was a bad / loose (not connected) ground wire in the underdash mess of wire. find your grounds... they are always a black wire going from "somewhere" to a good metallic ground. Make sure your wires are in good condition.. without any spots exposed and the contacts are in good clean order.. rust and corrosion and other kinds of weird build up or a loose bolt or something can be causing you to not ground out properly. Good luck! Edit) it would be a good idea to check all your underhood grounds out too

SuBrat84 replied to KStretch55's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
If I could afford it.. I would buy a "kit" run the gel in every component it's made for.. then run it for about 10k miles.. then tear everything apart and see how it all looks.. if it gums up or if it does what it says.. etc.. Thats the info i would like to know about... what's the stuff look like after you run it for a while. It's not a completely unheard of concept.. less friction with ceramic metal.. I like the IDEA behind the stuff.. but let's someone PLEASE find out if it WORKS!!! -
They must have been launching it off cliffs or hitting big curbs really hard or something... I've jumped my legacy pretty hard before and didn't do any damage.. I jump the railroad tracks on a regular basis... It's such a sweet 62-66mph jump!!! Anyway... sorry to hear about your buddies car man, hope he gets it back!

I just think the lines underneath the trim are not so hot.. but if you're gonna cut and smooth stuff.. it may look good. -
0-60 4.1 sec based on the ZX-11 model. top speed: 140mph 6 speeds and 900 pounds of yikes. I'd still rather have the sti atv.

400km? Isn't that like only 180 miles? That's only a two hour drive man! I have to drive 1700 miles just to see my parents! Did they make the smaller ej's turbo's also? ej18T buggy or airplane? -
