  1. Similar prob on my 84 GL. Turned out to be the positive battery cable was corroded in the sleeve.
  2. Under the dash, left of the steering wheel. Pretty much straight back behind the speaker grill close to the firewall. Mine was square,
  3. I use Redline in my '85 Brat (5 speed), and '84 wagon. Any top shelf gear oil will be an improvement, and I've found that there's only a couple of bucks difference between brands. Either way the shits not cheap, but once you get it in you will forget about the cost. I went with Redline 'cause you can find it pretty much everywhere.
  4. I've used AAMCO, (for a Jeep) they did fine, just more expensive. They wanted $600.00 to do an '84 sube clutch. Crazy. I would look at Oregon Transmission Service off of Garfield. No personal experience, but they've been around for decades and always seem to have plenty of business.
  5. You looking for a shop, or someone to help you or just do it?
  6. With out the cut off solenoid it will always do it. It's just a matter of tuning (timing + carb tuning) to keep it at a minimum. My 2 webered '85 and ' 84 do it but rarely.
  7. Yup, already happening. Noticing even those mid 80's Mustangs creeping up in price.
  8. Always wanted a Justy, Now I NEED a Justy!
  9. Ive only gotten one really bad one thru them. Easier than dealing with amazon for return/exchange. Never as good as origionals. Its usually the same empi axles on amazon.
  10. Go to Knechts. I've gotten plenty of axles from them. About the same price. Have them cross ref. with a 1984, or just get '84 axles, should be the same.
  11. Got this message from Subarubrat about window gasket. Haven't followed up on it so i don't know if they have more. This was for a gen 2 Brat, should fit your hatch. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If your still looking, my windshield was installed by Brown's Autoglass 10245 Fayettesville Rd, Bealeton, VA 22712 (540) 317-1420. They had a new one, they may be able to get you one as well. -Scott
  12. '86 hatches used the EA81 (gen 2) body style. '85 and up wagons/coupes used the EA82 (gen 3) body style. Don't think they'll fit.
  13. I used toms method, '85 brat as well. I still might have some pics, i'll look. EDIT: Looked, no pics.
  14. Seeing you are in Colorado, pop rad cap, go ahead and warm up your engine a bit so you don't lose any fingers to frost bite!
  15. Since you wont be fully draining it, 1 to 1.5 gal. should do the trick.
  16. Oh, a razor knife will be very handy as those hoses will be practically fused to their connection.
