http--,,--// This is hi-beams. The left hi-beam is on but very faintly and the left low gets dimmer.

Nope, been just fine till now, with the exception of the light switch which I fixed. The issue with the switch was the male/female connector into the harness fried so I just removed the connector and directly wired it up and it was working fine. Now I wonder if there was an issue with the actual switch. Here are some pics. http--,,--// That is on low beams. The left one is dimmer than the right and the brights are on but very faintly.

It's just the headlights and hi-beam indicator, everything else works fine. I did have some headlight switch problems before that I fixed. That's all I can think of...

'82 Brat Front Brake Caliper Stuck

those will fit. make sure you can turn the piston. -
nope, not it.

Hmm, gives me an idea. When looking down from the front of the car the left wire on the hi-beam headlight connector looks a little booged up. If that's a ground wire...........

I do know a faulty alt. can do some weird stuff.

Oh, and thank you Mod!

unhooked the hellas, no change. would a screwy headlight be an issue?
-
will do, thanks.

Installed those Hellas as seen in the "What have you done" thread and everything worked great! It's been 2 weeks and the Hellas still work great. Now when I go to turn on my headlights on the dim setting I get a faint flicker of the hi-beam indicator light and my hi-beams are on very faintly. When I switch on the hi-beams, one goes out completely, one low beam goes dim, and the remaining are normal. Any ideas?

You could pull the barrel (the part the key slides into), remove the "u" shaped pins from the barrel, and reinstall the barrel. That will make any key from that gen fit but may take away the binding you are getting.

Used is your only option and good luck with that. Those buggers are hard to come by. When you do get one you may not have to rekey. They tend to be worn enough that your old key will work. I replaced the ignition on my '85 Brat and use my old key with no probs.

Toyota Inclinometer Installation

Ever thought about cutting into the dash just to the right of your clock or just above the glove box? There may be vent ducts in the way but you could always use flexible tubing to reroute.- 13 replies

Glad to hear it.

Did you have your instrument cluster out? Sound very similar to a problem I had. I was changing lightbulbs and scratched the circuit board severing the connection causing my gas, volt, temp, and oil pressure gauges to stop working. But I could still start the car........

First, get yourself a " Mr. Fusion".
