  1. Gen 2 Brat doors will fit, just have to swap glass. Gen 2 brat and wagon fenders and doors, '82 thru '87 for Brat and '81? or '82 thru '84 for wagon will interchange. wagon doors will not swap.
  2. Height, Width, Length, Depth. Gen 1 and Gen 2. Looking to see if I can stuff a set and still keep my rollbar.
  3. How long this been happening? Have you bled the system? Your MC could be leaking internally. If the brake pedal feels spongy, mushy, or has to be pumped a few times before any resistance is felt, air is in the system. If brake pedal feels solid, but goes to within 3 inches of the floor or so before any resistance is felt, brake pads/shoes aren't making contact as quickly as they should and probably need adjusting. This thread reminds me of an episode of House.
  4. It's a lot easier than you think and well worth it. Plenty of info/help here.
  5. Yup, rear brakes have been replaced and adjusted. Master cylinder is all i have left. Bled the system several times. not a terribly expensive part so we'll see what happens.
  6. So far all my research is pointing to a bad master cylinder. It's not leaking fluid but I don't have the pressure I should. I'll change that and see what happens.
  7. Ok, did the master vac check according to HTKYSA manual and it is working properly.
  8. Just did the brakes on my Brat. Definitely better! Completely bled the system and I'm sure there is no air in it. Not mushy or anything. Now here's the problem. When the car is not running the brakes are great, I barely have to press the pedal, minimal travel, and they grab great. When the car is running I get about half way down on pedal travel before brakes apply and it seems I have to apply more pressure than necessary. I don't have to stand on the pedal but I does seem like I have to apply more pressure than should be necessary. Ideas? I'm suspecting the Master Vac. P.S When I apply the brakes at idle I get a slight drop in rpm's.
  9. Anyone ever attempted/done it? I've seen it in an auto Brat but not a stick. My only real concern is the 4wd lever. I have the 5spd swap so it's coming in at a different angle than stock. I'm considering giving it a shot.
  10. I "think" the manual shifter should fit. It looks like the e-brake just slides into place. My 5spd swap 4wd lever comes in at a different angle than the stock one. I'm thinking with a little cutting, make a vinyl boot to pretty it up, should do the trick. I should start a thread on this.
  11. yeah, that sounds (pun!) like what i'm after. NO FART CANS!
  12. Shiny new rotors and calipers. Re-did brakes on the Brat all around. Boy did they need it!
  13. Need to put a new muffler on the Brat and was wondering what set-ups you guys are running. Don't want something terribly loud as in do a lot of highway driving. My '81 had a Cherry Bomb/ Glass pack (Disturbing the peace since 1968) on it and sounded pretty good place about half way thru the system.
  14. I forgot about the 4x4 lever. Already been converted to 5 speed so the 4x4 lever is a little different than stock. could possibly work with a little cutting. good idea on the shifter. looks like some measuring/eyeballing is in order. Actually found one for sale here so we'll see....
  15. Dang Suba, that console looks sweet! I wanna put one in my Brat. Doesn't look like it was too much trouble to install. Would that fit on a manual?
  16. I have an '85 brat with only 5 wires. using your pis i have 2 solid yellow wires running to the right and the other 3 on the left.
  17. DAMMIT! New calipers didn't fit. My fault, I should have looked closer at the picture. Got the right ones (I hope) ordered so here's looking at next weekend. Man, all this shipping is killing me.
  18. Just a loose wire, no. If you're crossing wires/connections somewhere and you have a newer unit then yes. It's a safety feature so you don't fry your unit or cause other damage.
  19. Were the speaker wires ran under the carpet? I have the same set-up, 2 boxes behind the seats. I ran my wires under the carpet but when I put the seats back in I bolted the drivers side on top of the wire, pinching it, making my speakers cut in and out. Took forever to find that out. It took awhile before the problem showed up.
