  1. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=136882 Gen 1 pillar covers. Not sure if he still has.
  2. I don't know about Idaho, but in Oregon, insurance has to go by market/what it would cost YOU to replace the vehicle, not BB. But i'm sure your attorney will know all that.
  3. Did a few things to the Brat this week...... Fixed this now my guages work. Sweet.... Put a new altenator in. Washed my seat covers (quality seat covers do WONDERS for comfort and looks for EA seats) and gave the inside a good cleaning. Probably the last one for the winter. Have a busted turn sig/running light lens. I would like to just replace both with a cool LED set. Any ideas? Hope you all enjoy the pics!
  4. Yeah, i probably will try that. For now tho i'm going to leave it as-is and see if after years of low flow if it gets better after some actual useage.
  5. Got it back together. I don't think it's fixed. Warm out today so it's blowing warm like it did, not cooking me like my wagon does. We'll see when i drive to work in the morning. Not impressed with performance so far.....*sigh*
  6. Thats what i was gonna do, but thanks for looking out for me anyways. New core arrived today. Gonna hold onto it for a bit to see if that crimp was my problem. Should be all back together and on the road by friday.
  7. We certainly are blessed in this part of the country. I get into Washington often and that place is INFESTED with them.
  8. If the price is right, complete running car, and minimal rust I say go for it! I personally prefer the gen2's after having owned both. Sourcing parts for the 2's is a lot easier.
  9. Coo.... I've soldered before so i should be good to go. Looking forward to working guages.
  10. Yeah, i'm pretty stoked. Getting rained out right now so no work getting done. My '84 wagon heater is like an OVEN! Hoping for similar results!
  11. Heater on the '85 brat has never really worked. Blower is fine, would blow piss warm at idle then at whatever the outside temp was driving. Been freezing my rump roast of every winter i've had it. I've flushed it, checked all the control devices, thermostat, scoured the Forums, everything to do with heat to no avail. Well this winter i decided "I WILL FREEZE NO MORE!" and decided to bite the bullet and replace the core. Wasn't looking forward to that! Started draining the radiator, so far so good. Went to remove the hoses from the heater core at the firewall. Old hoses, firmly seated on the core inlets, mostly tore them off but i expected that and was going to replace with new anyways. Got the top one off only to see this! YOU THINK THIS MAY BE MY PROBLEM?!? DUHRRRR... Glad i haven't gotten to much tore apart. I'll put back together and see what happens.
  12. I was replacing bulbs. Slipped off the perch i had it on resulting in that scratch, so no electrical problems. I was thinking solder but wasn't sure if it would be a sufficent conductor. No iron but i could probably use one anyways. thanks guys. And i didn't figure the scratch out till i had it back together, PITA! I swear i cause more problems for myself than necessary!
  13. So, any ideas? Or am i stuck getting a replacement instrument cluster for my '85 brat? Thought about glueing a piece of copper to bridge the gap.
  14. Hey twitch, look in the subaru 4 sale section. Qman just posted something you may be interested in. Oh and for all your legal needs..... www.bettercallsaul.com
  15. Duuuuuuuude that suuuuxs........ thats my biggest fear for my Brat. Been considering upping my auto insurance coverage.
  16. Yeah, again, sorry for the long post. Just to finish this post off, I will post some pictures of what I saw at the dealership today. This is a perfect condition, inside and out, second generation Brat. Bit off topic here but i looked the Brat up and while a "Please Call" for price was listed they had a very similar '83 listed for 10k!! Just me or are Brat prices getting crazy? Had a guy come to my door this summer and offer 3.5k for my '85, as is, didn't even want to test drive it.
  17. Ditto here. Not very often but it does happen. Mostly when it's hot outside.

I run a Cobra Nightwatch LTD Classic in my Peterbilt. Inexpensive at about $125.00 and works great!
  19. Just bought a new heater core for the brat. Guess what sort of fun i'll be having in a few days.
  20. Fella came to my door and offered me 3k for my '85 Brat. Couldn't do it. Someone would have to offer crazy money.
  21. Ya, flushed mine several times, no dice. Really not looking forward to replacing core, but getting tired of freezing.
