outstanding! get yourself one of those cheap plastic kiddie pools for under the engine bay. then you can really go to town on it. makes for a really easy clean up.

thanks. put stereo in for a test run and nothing blew up!! now i can start the carpet install and get the stereo and consoles in for real! this is what i got... still wanna get a graphic EQ/pre-amp for it. i hate those built in ones. something like this..

you can always replace the door carpet. once you remove the lower door panel, (mines an '85, not sure if it's the same as yours) you will see how easy the carpet is to remove. use it as a template. you can get edging for the carpet at most home improvement stores. it's called carpet runner trim. i may go that route myself at a later date.

ran new 12 guage myself. are you talking about those 4 big holes left by the origional grill screws?

IT'S OFFICIAL. SPEAKERS ARE IN, YAY!! no pic. looks like other side. now time to start on the new wiring harness. looks like carpet may have to wait till tomorrow..... no tunes the last week or so has sucked! hopefully i can get it plugged in tonight.

ok, break time. having a Popsicle. got the speaker in. other side will go in fast now that got it figured! i cut some circles out of the old carpet to fill the holes left by the origional speaker grill. nope, just straight off the roll. i believe some outfit in Australia (sp?) sells molded carpet but price/shipping is a deal breaker on that!

ok. got the new carpet and padding yesterday. starting on new stereo and speaker ( b-day present ) instalitation and rewiring today, fireworks and beer later! more pics comming.....

Replacing the old carpet and padding. will be putting black carpet instead of blue. Will be running some speaker wires underneath for future rear speaker install. Also considering running power underneath for future installiation of an amp under the pass. seat. It's pushing 90 outside right now so the rest of the carpet and clean-up will have to wait till this evening....

both wagon and brat are weberized. once you remove all that emissions stuff (and options stuff you will never use), everything is a lot less confusing. EA81's are amazingly simple creatures, thats why i love them. i've had the "EJ IT!" thought bounce around in my head a few times but i'm happy with the reliability/easy maint/repair/performance of my bare bones ea81's. good luck. once finished you will love your EA LB even more!

recently bought a brat. the purchase dictated i would have to sell my wagon, NOOOOOO! small change of finances lets me keep it! '84 rust free, i mean rust free wagon. darn near perfect interior. 1 crack in dash and a small seam split on rear seat. future upgrades to come. *rubs hands together* today is a good day...

HA! tell whomever that you found a replacement (ed's). all it will take is a $4,500 check from them to cover the purchase, pick up/transport costs. prolly won't work but you never know. $4,500 is peanuts for them and it would get it off the books on your end....

boy i can be a moron sometimes! here i am, spending several hours trying to get every little bit of rust out of the door when i ask myself why am i doing this?? i have already decided to replace it (door has some other worse hidden rust issues) once i come across a really nice one. ************ it, just make it look nice in the meantime, and focus efforts on more important Brat things!! sheesh!! i have a habit of getting too focused one thing....
