  1. drivers side. pulled off re-installed. still the same vibe. yeah, i'm sure it's the correct axle. guess i'm just gonna have to pull it and return it for another. god that pisses me off. i hate replacing those things. i thought the axle nut may be loose but it's as tight as i can get it. think i may back it off a bit. old car may not used to being tight. *insert dirty joke here*
  2. replaced cv w/reman. i hate them. wanted to get new but something came up that took my extra $$ and i needed the car on the road. anyways, got it in no prob. now i got a horrible vibration. hoping it is just a tight one. the knuckle was awfully tight when i put it in. if that is the case is it going to loosen up with wear or is there something i can do to it or should i get another one?? i did search the site on the subject and this to me seemed the most likely scenario. now looking for a solution. that vibe drives me bonkers.
  3. i haven't heard the term "keen" used in years! thumbs up bro!
  4. good project. nothing more irritating than improperly working window/door handles. my driver side (outer) door handle was busted for the longest time. best fix i've done.
  5. nice score. take the wife out to one of her fave eateries. consider it part of the cost of your soob. it's always a nice thing when you spend money on yourself to spend some on the other. everyone is happy. it's a win win.
  6. man that sucks. i would be pretty upset if my wagon burned. thats why i carry one of these. only $19.95. have mounted in a handy spot! also 'cause i have an hour drive to work at 12:00 am and having to sit in the dark out in BFE watching my ride burn to the ground holds no appeal.
  7. gots me a slanted console installed. thanks mikeshoup! here's the old one. just your standard EA81 console. the one i got from mike was grey. didn't go so well with blue. so i went out and bought a can of black Krylon Fusion™ (bonds to plastic) spray paint. and this is the result. oops, hard to see in that pic. they had a can of blue Krylon Fusion™ that looked to be a pretty close match, but not close enough. knowing me as well as i do, i would find the not matching highly irritating. so i went with the contrast of black. whaddaya think?? me likes! :headbang:
  8. welder?? looks like you already have one. just make sure you throw some food and water at him, take him out for potty walks, and keep doors locked so no one steals him. your set!
  9. 1952 Willys Jeep Wagon 4X4 - $1300 (Eugene) pic
  10. they must be NOS or such. i looked at the link provided and they don't mark them as remans. hmm, let us know how you like them. i've heard the GCK's are a redesigned, more heavy duty axle, so that may increase the cost. but anyway i've been paying 50 bucks each for remans that last maybe a year and i'm tired of it. i'll pay extra for quality.....
  11. i've got to order mine next week. only one currently is bad, but both are remans so i'm just gonna replace both and be done with it. you can look at/order online thru autozone but i don't know what shipping would be.
  12. heh. would like to do my front windshield someday but i'm too chicken atm....
  13. '84. plenty of chips and scratches already! west coast=no salt. EA81, not to much underthere to cool, hee hee, no probs w/airflow. it's pretty thick material so i don't think a regular sewing machine will work. already thought of that. maybe sew by hand and just "pin" it in a few key places? anyways thanks guys! lets see some more lights!
  14. yeah, that part has always bothered me. been thinking of a couple of ways to give it a more flush, tighter fit without making it a biatch to take off. i have one idea but it may involve a little bumper cutting. another way i was thinking was to take it to an apholstery place to if they can shorten the length of the mesh part in front of the grill so it's more snug.
  15. the rate soobies are stolen i really need to put in that cut-off switch i've been thinking about........ glad you got her back in one piece! was anyone caught in it?
