Hey, nice Brat! I'm in the same area, I'll keep my eyes open for ya. If you see this one tooling around Eugene/Springfield, if you haven't already, that's me! http--,,--// -
Cause of Death: Oil Explosion?

Not putting the oil cap on. -

Try this if all else fails. Fixed my Brat light issues. They have 2 and 4 plug versions. http://www.ebay.com/itm/4-HEADLIGHT-RELAY-WIRING-HARNESS-H4-HEADLAMP-LIGHT-BULB-CERAMIC-SOCKET-PLUGS-SET-/331214602226?hash=item4d1dedbff2&vxp=mtr

I was having simillar light issues on my Brat. Spent forever trying to track down the problem. Got one of these, fixed all my light issues. Only thing i had to do was get a female light connector ($3.00),and some spade connectors so i could rearrange how the main plug (3 wires) plugged into the new harness. Yours being an '82 you would need the 2 plug harness. 4-HEADLIGHT RELAY WIRING HARNESS H4 HEADLAMP LIGHT BULB CERAMIC SOCKET PLUGS SET

I like it. Looks solid.

I run a LoadWarrior on my '84 GL wagon. http--,,--// http--,,--// Your wagon being a bit larger and more squared off, I think you could rock the Mega, especially if the price is right. How will you be mounting it? Does it come with the correct hardware for it?

1st gen wagon in a ritz commercial

If it makes you fell better, I like it anyways! -
Check plug wires, cap, and rotor. My Brat would start off fine, but would struggle to get to/maintain highway speeds. turned out to be a fried wire at the disty cap.

Its under the dash, on the left side of the center console. Turn your knob and look for movement. Once you see it you will understand.

new to subaru + my story
jonas replied to subiespool's topic in Meet n' Greet. Your USMB Welcome Center
Welcome. I'm not too versed on the newer Gens, but you've come to the right place! -
Magnaflow on my Brat. Nice sound without being too loud or "ricey". Eventually have the whole system converted to stainless.

Does anyone know of a chart/guide for cross referencing different shocks/struts?
-
Appreciate the info guys. Is there a better spring (different model/year) I should be looking at if I go that route? Or just stick with the EA81 springs?

Lots of Subaru Reprodution Decals (my new store)
jonas replied to Pooparu's topic in Products for your Subaru
Dude, R/C Gen 2 decals *DROOLZ* Might force me to repaint the Brat..... -
Yes, I would be interested in coils as well. I can safely guess that mine in both cars (200k + mi.) have never been replaced. But, coils seem to me to be something that can last forever unless physically damaged thru abuse and/or an accident. Am I wrong on that? Inquiring minds want to know!

Looking to replace the shocks/struts on my 3" lifted '85 wagon and my stock '84 wagon. There are a lot of options out there, From the super expensive Bilsteins (which Amazon currently has at a great price) to the super cheap AC Delcos. I'll personally stay away from cheapos, they're cheap for a reason. I'll also stay away from the really expensive, as at some point your just paying for name and throwing you're $$ away. My thinking is a good name brand middle-o-road set should be just fine for my needs (mostly highway driving). Looking for something with a nice smooth ride. So, what are you guys running and recommend? What should I stay away from? Should I spend a little extra skrillage for a better shock/strut? Am I wrong about el cheapos? Or am I right on the money with my middle-o-road line of thinking? I've never bought shocks/struts in my life. Discuss.......

Are brats really this expensive now?

Anything '70's, '80's Japanese is going up fast right now. Even those '70's & '80's Japanese motorcycles that you couldn't give away a few years ago are climbing fast. -
dreaded bubbles in coolant reservoir
jonas replied to joe5's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Intake. Just did my intake, (EA81, but same symptoms) and made the mistake of using cheap auto store gaskets. Going to replace with dealer. -
What other subaru has compatible parts with 82 brat?

And you're in Seattle, can't swing a dead cat without hitting a Subaru. Drop a line in the wanted section and see what bites. -

'82 thru '87 Brat. '81 thru '84 wagon. '81 thru '87 hatch. Not sure if i've covered all years, Gen 1's might be compatable. I'm sure someone will be along shortly with better info. And welcome aboard! http--,,--//
