  1. found this at the eugene or pick-n-pull. car is complete. all glass perfect. all lights perfect. bumpers perfect. interior a little ratty. tan interior. an A/C car. still sitting on inflated tires. factory roof rack. rear wing over back window. doors rusty at bottom.
  2. is '85 the last year rear discs would be interchangeable with my '84 wagon? i located wrecked '86 and '87 turbos w/ discs still on them.
  3. ditto. would like pad for '84 wagon
  4. pair of pliers sitting on passanger seat. classic.
  5. sweet hatch!! '84? a hatch is on my "aquire next" list i keep stored in my head where the woman won't find it! actually she likes old subies too so it's never been really hard to talk her into getting another one. i think i'll keep her for awhile longer, LOL!!
  6. true. i saw that episode. again not sure about the brat tho. such a small bed may not make any real difference either way. thought about doing that to my brat till i saw that show. i also have an '84 gl wagon w/200k. sounds like a fun experiment! i'll start keeping accurate records and see what happens. i also have a 45/50 mile commute to work, mostly freeway so this should be fun!
  7. i'll take notes of actual rpm tomorrow. my speedo (not the bathing suit kind you pervos! ) matches the vibration thru the steering/shifter/car.
  8. mostly around 55 mph the worst. above that it smooths out but not totally. same as under 55.
  9. hi guys! well i was getting a really bad vibration/shudder thru my wagon. replaced bad cv, still vibration just not as bad. found out had seperated tire. replaced tires and had rebalance. still vibration continues but not as bad. replaced a toast (i mean totally shot!) rear u joint. better but not where i want it to be. was sure i put my driveline back on exactly how i took it off, so i went and took it back off and rotated it. put back on. again better but still vibrating. now i'm leaning towards just having my driveline rebalanced. i can spin my rear tires by hand and i do notice a slight wobble in the line. so should i have it rebalanced or try my luck with a J/Y driveline? or maybe a broken tranny mount? i havent looked for that yet.
  10. shoulda been MINE MINE MINE MINE MINE!!!!!!! called but you allready scored. dang. oh well glad it went to someone here. so whatcha gonna do with it??
  11. a sixer of cold beer will help tremendously. suprised no one mentioned that.
  12. man, what a crappy saturday. i'll have a beer for ya.
  13. success! t'was filters. now to replace a cv, rear wheel bearing, and get a small weld on my Y pipe and i'm golden! still not quite as "peppy" as my brat but still what ya expect at 200k miles!
  14. the cv's in my wagon were replaced a couple years ago with remans. one is going to ************ again. what does one expect for 50 bucks tho?:-\
  15. thanks guys! i just happen to have a spare vac. advance sitting around! and i'll get on those filters too. i'll let ya know what happens.
  16. my '84 wagon has a problem when pulling hills or i really need to put the pedal to it. i get some cutting out and loss of power. other than that it drives fine on freeway/town driving. i've replaced plugs/wires/cap/rotor/rebuilt carby trying to figure this one out. still no luck. i've checked my vacume hoses and routing. still no luck so now i'm going the fuel delivery route. i just got the wagon so i have no idea when the filters were last changed. any thoughts?
  17. welcome to the club! soobies are VERY addicting. bought my first one a bout 2 years ago ('81 brat). thought, "ok this is cool, i like it!" always wanted a brat anyway. brat is a rust bucket and doesn't have too much life left but is mechanically great. so i get myself an '84 wagon as a replacement thinking i can just sell the brat or use for spare parts. so now it's crunch time and I CAN"T DO IT!!! so i'm keeping brat. and now i want MORE soobies. a hatch is next on my list once i get some spare $$. fortunatly the woman likes soobs too but doesn't like me spending all the spare $$ on them. so welcome to your new addiction!
