  1. Could very well be. Just that the area my work is located is sketch. People are always coming on the property and stealing spoob. I'm gone overnight, so my Brat sits there. Could have startled someone, as people are coming and going at all hours. 4 of the 6 screws were along the tailgate trim then 2 more going up the drivers side. Seems like it would be more random and not so many at once if it was just coming loose. I dunno, just being paranoid I guess. Trim is damn near impossible to replace.
  2. Not what have I done, but I think someone is trying to steal the bed trim on my Brat. Noticed 6 trim screws missing and one loose one. The trim is in really good shape, and there are a few Brats in my area. Am I being paranoid?
  3. Yup, go for 5. Probably be easier to find and you'll be much happier.
  4. My '84 wagon does that in 4th (I mean STUCK) if I come to a stop w/o going into neutral or downshifting. Then, I have to get moving in 4th 'till I can get out of 4th. Try that.
  5. AutoCheck found 9 records on this vehicle. I didn't pay the 20 bucks for the details, but something else to think about.
  6. New Magnaflow muffler on the Brat today! Didn't start out as a magna, was going to get a knock off. He got to work on it only to discover they didn't have the muffler in stock, so they went ahead and put a Magnaflow on, no extra charge. Sounds sweet!
  7. Gear box in the Brat was getting a little crunchy. Drained the old, replaced with Redline. Shifting smooth and the noise on deceleration less noticeable.
  8. '84 wagon fenders will work, doors no. Hatches will work, you just need to change the glass.
  9. Plasti-Dip on the bumpers. Going on 2 years on my Brat, still holding up with no fade. Stuff lays really nice as well.
  10. I'm sold! Need a muffler for the Brat. Bad. Been trying to decide on what I wanna do, sounds like Magnaflow for me.
  11. Really hope not. Think I will get lucky tho. Looks like the bolts have been replaced. They seem soft as my grips chew the broken one up pretty easily.
  12. Ball joints, tie rod ends. Sounds like you got the rest covered. Shouldn't need to replace calipers unless seriously frozen/damaged. Just clean them up, fresh caliper grease, and you should be good to go. The caliper piston screws in if you're replacing pads, incase you didn't know.
  13. Well, I'm boned. Figured this would happen so I was real careful, used heat and penetrating oil. Needed to replace my T-stat in the '84 wagon. Looks like it had been done before so I was hopeful the bolts would come out fairly easily. I was wrong on the easily part. Snapped one bolt. Still have a little nubbin sticking out I can grab on to. Keeping positive on this, I'm hoping with lotsa pen oil, heat, patience, and time, I can work the bugger out. Realistically, I think I'm gonna end up having to drill and tap. Looks like the T- stat was replaced at some point with a non-dealer one. While it fit, it seems small with a lot of room for movement. Meaning I could spin it around. The new dealer T-stat fits snugly with no room to spin. Hope they gave me the right one. We'll see.
  14. That looks like a lot of fun! Where did you get those 4WD stickers? Barracuda? I like those.
  15. Are you venting the visor? Using the hood as a template (properly measured and trimmed of course) could work as well. Would looks sweet having the matching lines from the hood on the visor.
  16. Dunno if anyone answered but that belonged to Subarubrat, he's on here. Unfortunately it fell victim to rust so he parted it out I believe.
