Hi All, My white 1600 4 Speed sedan is now for sale (in Australia, Melbourne). Basically after spending a fair bit of time getting it back on the road, it looks like its actually the carb that needs to be rebuilt. I have now just lost motivation. My loss your gain. Thanks for the awesome closeups Lee, however my manifold is a bit different to yours, with the thermostat housing behind the carb, not to the side of it, so I think the bracket must be different! I'll post a pickie on weekend. -
Hi, Does anyone have a clear photo of where the accelerator cable is anchored next to the stock hitachi carb on a 1600? I just cant find where its little tie down bracket is supposed to bolt down - manifold, carb, where Thanks in advance.

Calcification around battery fittings - Why?
GTlegs replied to GTlegs's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Thanks for that. The acid is around the hold down clamp only though, not on the terminals - does that mean anything? Yeah KMart is the lowest rung department store here. -
Hi All, I need to remove my EA82 from a GL. It has an auto box. The question is, besides the engine to diff bolts, is there any other bolts I need to remove (eg crank to torque converter, etc)? Thanks

Nice post mate. Read with interest. I was wondering who the coupe went for. I thought of buying the GFT (its practically next door to me), but have two cars in garage and two in driveway already, so no room . -
Bump Finishes tomorrow - some stuff already going. Hi All, I got some stage 2 (1976 - 1979) wagon rear door seals for sale. Used but in excellent condition. I got them for my sedan, but turns out they are from a wagon. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=350471250527&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT Also other Subaru stuff FS: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=350471250536&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=350471250596&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=350471250560&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=350471250650&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=350471250670&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT

Anyone got a part number for the cam carrier o rings please?

Thanks for that. Doe these require a spray of hylomar before fitting?

Hi, I need to change the headgaskets on my EA82. Which gaskets would you recommend (from experience). Thanks
-
As a starter, the intake side should have texture (ie not be mirror finish) as this helps the fuel and air mix.

Fair point. 3/4 of Queensland (thats roughly the size of texas), and a quarter of Victoria. I am in Melbourne though and all is OK here. We are all rallying and donating for the victims Oz wide but. -

Sounds like you have a decent idea re the noise, but are you certain its not just a spun bearing? These make a weird knocking noise too. -

Mate, give Duggan balancing in Reservoir a call. They did all the machining and blue printing work on my Chrysler 360 and know what they are doing. They have a good reputation in chrysler and ford circles. Really nice blokes there too - dont just dismiss you and explain everything. Dont know how much they will knwo about subaru engines, but worth a shot. Otherwise how do you know its actually out of round and not something else? Also, have you thought of dropping an EA81 in it? As you know I have a 77 GL, and I have an EA81 sitting at the back. I will see if its a straight drop in this xmas break and can let you know. Youre in Cheltenham arent you? Let me know if you need a hand.
